UK baseball team turning heads nationally
Rick Bozich
It is the national story of the year in college baseball. There is no other way to say it.
A University of Kentucky program that consistently has been as fearsome as a pop out to the second baseman has become the muscle team in the game's muscle league.
When UK won a mid-March series against Louisiana State, the first reaction was that LSU baseball was slumping. Ditto for the Wildcats' series victory against Tennessee.
We are now one series from the end of the regular season. If the Wildcats can win once in the three-game series they begin at Georgia tonight they will be the Southeastern Conference champions for the first time in school history. A program that has less tradition than UK's football program is ranked as high as fourth nationally in one poll.
