Does UK have a chance? Is there a Kentucky connection?

Joker is recruiting him. Bout all I know. Offers from UK, LSU, Oklahoma, Clemson and Alabama. Stories I've seen say UGA is front runner if offered with LSU up there as well. BUt with Joker you never know.

I'm just curious about something? Why are we sending an offensive coordinator to recruit a defensive player? Seems like we would send one of the defensive coaches down to recruit a defensive player?

Joker can recruit?
Here is a profile that list him as #18 at LBer:

I have no doubt that Joker can't recruit. If I was a recruit that plays offense, I would like to see a college to send down either the head coach or one of the offensive coaches and not a defensive coach. As a player I would be asking myself several questions:
1) Why did they send a defensive coach down to see me?
2) Do they think I'm going to play defense in college?
3) It would kind of in a wayshow disrespect to me.
4) it would show that they aren't that serious in me after all.

Good question Trex but I think each coach is assigned to an area so when they travel, their recruits are closer together. *I think this is the reason*

UK recruits by geographic area, not position. That way the coaches can establish relationships with the high school coaches in that state.
So Joker can recruit all the kids from GA and know the coaches, etc and it is alot better than 8 coaches recruiting the state and the HS coaches talking to 8 different UK coaches.

so, do all schools recruit by geographic area then?

Just depends on the staffs recruiting strategy. Some do by position but I think most are doing by area now. With the shear amount of recruits and limitations placed upon recruiting visits it's almost logistically impossible to get everywhere you need to go in the time allowed.

Considering that we have had offensive players come to UK after being recruited chiefly by a defensive coach and vice versa, it appears that those players did not feel disrespected. Personally, I don't understand all this disrespect stuff. Over the past ten years or so, I have heard the word "disrespect" more than I did for the first 30 of my life. Everyone seems to by hyped up being "dissed."
A coach for UK is showing me attention and saying that the staff has determined that I would fit into the school's future. I would have none of the concerns you expressed. If the coach told me I was being recruited for offense, why would I disbelieve him just because he was a defensive coach. At some point would I want to hear from Brooks or the OC? Sure, but I would be fine with any coach making contact with me and my coach. The goal, I believe, is to get the kid to come to the campus to meet the players and the coaches.
Coaches have to learn regions, make connections, get to know coaches, etc. Having a good connect with the kids coach is much more important than making sure the kid is recruited by a coach from his side of the ball.

Archer was the coach recruiting Moncell Allen, along with help from Dicky Lyons. I'm sure they hear from the coach of their side of the ball at some point. I would trust Joker or Archer with handling any player.
