We've all experienced it at some point(s) in our life. That desire to open the gift a little early.

If Coach Brooks' Monday night show is available online, go listen to it. You can hear in his voice a lift when asked if the quarterback competition is close would he consider starting Newton. I expected him to say, "well, . . . redshirt, . . . . .inexperience, . . . .maturity. . . ."
Many of us followed the recruitment of Morgan Newton closely. I can tell you who his "host" was when he officially visited Florida. I recall it was that relative unknown kid who sustained a concussion in Commonwealth Stadium a couple of weeks ago.

The first question on everyone's mind when Ryan Mossakowski committed was whether that would effect Newton's recruitment. Everyone breathed a sigh of relief when Dr. Newton gave an interview saying that Morgan would welcome such competition.

And the week after he committed, he had that nationally televised game the week before the kickoff to the college season. And Dr. Newton, and all the family was wearing Kentucky Blue. And then there were the canned interviews with Morgan, Dr. and Mrs. Newton, all of which became a two hour infommercial for UK Football.

And then just a couple of days before the '08 game with Louisville, there was the interview with Morgan when he said he and his dad had come to Lexington in '07 to see Louisville, but were blown away by Woodson, and Kentucky. He actually stuck a fork in Louisville before stepping on campus. :)

So, we might get to see Morgan Newton this weekend.
