Can anyone give me some information on what sections are good to have seats in?

Anyone attend the Women's games on a regular basis?

Would it be worth buying season tickets for a Middle School player to watch?

Thanks

CATlettsburg, just a quick reply to your questions.

First, there are no bad seats in Memorial Coliseum. If you are interested in getting tickets, though, the one thing you might want to consider is that seats on the west side of the Coliseum are chair back seats, while those on the East and North (endzone) sides are bench seats. You can probably get lower seats on those two sides, but if you need a chair back keep this in mind.

I have season seats and really enjoy the games. I had gone to games occasionally over the years but didn't have much interest. When Mitch Barnhart signed Mickie DeMoss and started his marketing of the program with $20 season tickets I figured "What the Heck," and bought a couple of sets. I have got to admit that it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. It has been a great experience watching Mickie's teams slowly learn how to become winners. And watching Sara Potts' game improve so drastically from basically a set up three point shooter to one of the best all around players in the nation was incredible. Her last few games were as good as any I have witnessed from UK players, male or female, and I've been watching UK basketball since the 59-60 season when my dad first took me and my two brothers up from Ashland to the UKIT.

Regarding whether it would be worth buying tickets for a Middle School player to watch the games, I would say it depends on where she is. From your moniker, I presume that you are in Catlettsburg. Is she also? Individual tickets are $20 each and may be less for students, although I don't think so. If you can only make 4 games or less you may be better off just buying the tickets at the door or over the phone or on the web. But I can assure you that you and the Middle Schooler will have a good time. The fans really get into the games, especially when the defense starts getting cranked up. And Mickie is a firecracker. Should be an even better season this year if someone can step up to take over the shooting load vacated by Sara, which is a big IF. But if they do, wwe should make the NCAA tournament this year.

Go CATS!!!!

Also, be aware that they are undergoing major renovation at Memorial. That's going to cost them a few thousand seats so sell out games are a real possibility. If you're driving in, I would probably purchase my tickets online or over the phone before getting here just to be sure.

As far as making up Sara's points, it is going to be hard. Both Mahoney and Elliott averaged double digits last year, and I expect them to keep that and add a few each game. Bringing Pfeiffer back will hopefully give us a solid three point shooter. While Carly isn't a scorer, she should be able to pick up Angela's slack and then some. The other point - Oreonna is supposed to be a good three point shooter as well. And Alcius, I hope, is going to become a more consistent scoring threat. Long way of saying, I think they'll look to distribute some of Sara's scoring throughout the team. And having two additional post players with experience and health (Roddy & Perry) won't hurt either.

Cathy, I buy UK Women's B-Ball season tickets for the K-Fund bonus points you get. 20 points for subscribing verses one point for every $100 for regular donations. I've never been to a game, I always given my tickets to the Girls Club of Lexington. Maye this year I'll pick out a game or two and go. When the tickets arrive lets talk, maybe make it an event.
