What would a loss do to our regional hopes? I'm not sure how those things get decided. Can we still host?

UK is in the NCAA regionals. No matter what they did this week, the co-champ of the SEC is going to get an NCAA bid. However, this week could have a lot to do with whether UK get's to host a regional.

I'm thinking they need at least one and probably two wins to be able to host a regional. That's just my logical evaluation, not anything that anybody has said.

Go to UK radio link (http://www.ukathletics.com/index.php?s=&change_well_id=2&url_article_id=11411 ) on the UKAA website and you can listen on the computer. The game is on CSS on television, but not many folks get that. Beginning tomorrow the game will be on Fox Sports South.

It doesn't lay this out, but I'm thinking that the batter was either bunting and catcher interfered with the batter coming out of the box going to first, or that the batter was swinging and the bat hit the catcher's glove. Either would be call catcher interference, I think.

Shelby struck out. Shelby have a terrible tournament, so far. Shelby is 0-10 over the last 3 1/3 games. He needs to pick up his game and that would be a big help to the Cats.

That would have to be a bunt play if the catcher interfered. Or else a swinging hit that bounced off the plate that the catcher was trying to play. If the catcher interferes with the runner when he's out of the box, impedes his motion to first in some way, then the run is awarded the base.

Cats are playing pretty inept the last two days. The inexperience in tournament play is showing through brightly. Hope they can put this sort of stuff behind them and suck it up in the NCAA. I don't hold out much hope for hosting a regional.

On the positive side, I heard on the radio that the last two times that Georgia has gone to the College World Series they have gone two and out in the SEC Tournament. Looking for that silver lining here. ;)
