:thumbupLet me start of with stating that I had no idea a book like this even existed u ntil I took a Kentucky Literature course at my college this past semester. My teacher had commented on having read this book about the 96 championship season and it being a "Kentucky Literary Work" because it was about soemthing in kentucky and the author was from Kentucky. Sad to say that I wouldn't have even known about it had I been one of those people who don't go to class or pay attention in class, as my friend who sat next me (on occasion) is.
Then I began the search for this book. I don't live in Lexington and rarely go there so it may be easier to find up there. I searched Bardstown, Louisville and E-town for this book and was unable to get my hands on a copy. Then it hit me to try Amazon.com. I had some luck there but had a serious problem with getting the transaction to go through for some odd reason. The page kept messing up. I then tried ebay. Ebay had a copy of the book with a buy it now thing so instead of bidding on it having the opportunity to lose out, I chose to spend the extra buck (literally a $1 difference) and ensure that I get the book.
I finished reading it today and I loved it. It brought back a lot of good memories of that year's squad and gives you a different approach to the whole thing. I thought it was well-written and everything came together very nicely with some past references to previous teams and previous players and coaches and what not.
If you haven't read it, try to pick up a copy and read it. It will be a book that I add to my collection of various UK things and hopefully, when I have children, I can have them read it. If I'm even luckier, the Cats will be winning championships then too and I can say, "I remember the teams of the 90s that brought home 2 championships, 4 final fours and a Runner Up."
I plan to watch my copy of the 96 Title game later on tonight and maybe the 98 game tomarrow if I get the time. I like to rehash stuff like this occasionally.:thumbup
