#1 Alabama vs. #4 Jacksonville State (Jacksonville, AL)
#3 Troy (Troy, AL) vs. #4 Southern Mississippi
Now this is a true regional lineup.

By getting the No.4 National seed thay are all but guaranteed to play all their games in T-town to get to Omaha. Bama's rep goes a long way in college athletics. If the Cats had handled Georgia this season, we would have had a National ranking also. Instead, UGA gets the No.7 ranking without winning the Conference, Eastern division or SEC tourney.

We can't complain. UGa was playing better than the Cats during the last regular season and tournament weeks. Three of the 4 teams playing in Lexington are very much in the Ky/Indy area. And I'm darned glad to see them spread out to non-SEC teams for our first round. But then Cohen says, as expected, that UK is in a very tough pairing.
Michigan playing in Atlanta---how "regional" is that!

The Collegiate Baseball Poll which came out on Monday (5-29-06) has UK at No.8, one point behind No.7 Alabama. Georgia is ranked No.10.
