Take style of play out of it. I think you can do so many more things with a point forward, which may in truth just be a really tall point guard, who can go down low when need be. It would seem to create alot of match up problems. I remember watching cisco garcia cause many match up problems back in the day. Jasper could be considered a point forward, if he maybe were just a little bit taller, maybe an inch. Though as it is, i will take a 6'6 point guard.. i hope he is every bit as tall as advertised

With his good ball-handling abilities, I think you could call Jamal Mashburn a point forward and you could probably call Antoine Walker a point forward. That a couple of great examples of why you might prefer a point forward to a point guard.

i agree and that is correct, but what would you pefer larry. i agree more so with mashburn than walker. no doubt walker could pass like magic johnson, and start at the five and not miss a beat, but i don't know that i would consider him a point forward... you could plug him at any of three or four positions and he wouldn't miss a beat.. don't think he could play the two, but who knows maybe a shooting guard in there. lmao.

Let us not forget the most recent point forward we had, Tayshaun. We could use someone with that array of skills on the team now, hopefully we can snag Anthony Randolph and see the second coming. I think that would prove to be very nice.....jmo

Worked for us with Garcia and you all with all the players listed above. Having anyone 6'7 to 6'9 with guard skills is a plus no matter what you do with them.

Point Guard=a fundamental requirement

Point Forward=A fantastic boon.

The point forward's benefit to the team is reduced without a capable lead guard, so you have to have that guard 1st.

With both you can better attack the oter team and have tremendous ballhandling.
