Two months ago, Maurice Grinter thought he would be a Louisville Cardinal.

But there Grinter stood yesterday at the University of Kentucky's Nutter Center watching the Wildcats' workout with a UK sweatshirt on.

The 6-foot-2, 220-pound Grinter, who was one of the state's top athletes at Fairdale last season, has verbally committed to play football at Kentucky and will enroll at UK for the spring semester.

Grinter originally signed with Louisville last February, but a technicality over a science course he took his senior year at Fairdale held up his paperwork with the NCAA Clearinghouse and prevented him from enrolling in August.

By the time Grinter was approved academically, U of L had used up its allotment of scholarships and asked Grinter to delay his enrollment until January.

Cool. A pig really can find an acorn every once in a while. http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/36/36_1_11.gif (http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb001_ZSYYYYYYYYUS)

That would be a blind pig. ;)

Just who is the blind pig in your analogy? Grinter or Joker.

LOL......several names come to mind. Maurice Grinter will certainly add a little excitment. Keep em' coming. A few more like that and with less injurys next year, it could be interesting.

The UL fans I have spoken with about Grinter all seemed very impressed with this kid and are not happy that he is with the Cats. One compared him to Michael Bush. Does the kid have that kind of potential? Will he most likely play RB?

Caught a little of WHAS last Friday night before ul veered off it's collision course with the MNC. Anyway, lot's of cardfans are concerned they only have 3 commits at this time.

Heard the same thing today from a friend. They were anticipating recruiting to roll once UL got some winning distancefrom theS.Florida debacle, but now they have not won one game in the Big Easy and some fans are afraid that UL was courting players who were too talented (kids in with the top programs in the country). The fear is that the losses will send those kids to the true upper echelon schools and leave UL without a clear recruiting plan.

By the way, does Tony Franklin still consider UL a top ten program??? ;)
