Throughout his professional life, Steve Lavin never faced a difficult career choice.

Take a job on Gene Keady's Purdue staff straight out of college? Duh.

Become a volunteer assistant at UCLA, one of college basketball's elite programs? Naturally.

Move up to third assistant, second assistant, first assistant and then, when UCLA abruptly fired Jim Harrick, become interim coach? Of course, times four.

Bradley needs to get stronger and needs to improve his handle. He cannot afford next season to be dribbling the ball out of bounds or into the arms of a defender. That will give us a freshman PG in a big hurry.
