I know there are an unusual amount of fans on this board in carolina...so who would you like to see us take on draft day with the third pick? Assume all players are still available.

You have to go Roy if he's still on the board, but he's liable to be gone. I'm hoping the Lakers will trade Odom, some fillers, and their first to the Bulls for their #2 and #16 picks and take Roy.

Speaking of the Bobcats, I would like to see their arena. The last and only time I was in Charlotte was 2002 when I went there to see what Charlotte was like during the Hornets relocation.... The Panthers stadium (Erickson then, Bank of America now) was awesome and the tour was great, but the Charlotte Coliseum (which is way in the middle of nowhere) was all closed up and there were no tours available (hoping that may have changed). I didn't check out the land that the Bobcats were going to build the new arena on but they were in meetings with the commisioner while I was there.

Jordan, the new Charlotte Bobcats Arena is amazing IMO. It's one of the nicest arenas I've been in quite some time. All seats are cushion and the sightlines are really good. It feels like you are right on top of the action. The scoreboard is a monstrosity. It's so big! On top of the scoreboard they have a replica of what Charlotte looks like with its buildings. It's really hard for me to explain how nice the place is. With that being said, I don't get there as much as I would like because the pirces are outrageous for any event except the Charlotte Checkers hockey games.

Check out this link. It's a pretty good shot of the scoreboard and arena.

Okay, now my selection for the draft. Rudy Gay would be my selection. I think the kid has so much potential to be a player in the NBA. He's young (still can teach him a thing or two), athletic and can drive to the hole. He reminds me of a younger Gerald Wallace type...very slasher like. He received very good reviews during his workouts about a week ago. I wouldn't be very suprised if they take him with their first pick.

As a season ticket holder of the Bobcats I can confirm what Jon says. The major problem I have with the new NBA is the influx of hip hop music being played during the game. It is no different in Charlotte and with the countries largest in arena scoreboard (hi-def, btw), it gets REALLY REALLY loud. You cannot talk to the person next to you half the time without yelling. Our seats are five rows from the court right at the half court line on the team bench side. Great seats, but as Jon said VERY pricey for an expansion team. They have reduced prices a bit, but not enough for an expansion team. That may be the reason that three of the teams executives have resigned, all on the business development side. Let me know if you ever want to get to a game and I'll see if I am around to give you our tix.

Back to topic:

I had the pleasure of sitting next to Adam Morrison on my flight to Los Angeles last week from Charlotte. He had worked out with the Bobcats the day before. He said it went "Okay" but he really liked the city since it was quiet and that's what he is used to. He also said that he liked the young nucleus and how it felt more like college than some of the other workouts. He said he liked the way the team treated the players and the direction of the franchise. I had to disagree with him there. He also said he was only working out for the first four teams. I talked to him for about 20-20 minutes and then went back to my work/reading as he BLASTED all sorts of music from rap to either metal/punk. Really really nice guy and signed autographs when we got to LAX. That being said, the Bobcats need scorers and shooters BAD! I say either Roy since they have no two guard or Morrison as he may energize the fan base and help the team rid itself of the perceived/real stereotype that it currently has. Oh, he can also play a little bit, too. I just think Wallace is still young and he and Gay are so similar. Gay will be a much better pro, but Wallace signed a pretty big extension last year and the fans love him.

Wow, that's pretty sweet notfrank!

It's almost certain Brandon Roy will still be available by the 3rd pick.
