I joined Spring Valley here in Lexington back in 04 and have really loved it. The Schneiders are about as nice a family as you could meet and there is no pretense whatsoever at the club. I enjoy the layout and have a great group of guys I play a regular game with on Thursday afternoon.

What about the rest of you?

I've considered joining a few places in the past - Glenmary, Woodlawn Springs..........even considered a membership through the metro parks system.
Ultimately, I don't play often enough (4-5 times/month) to warrant a membership at a course. I'd feel locked in to playing that course all the time and I really like the variety of the dozens of choices locally.

I actually got two offers last year - Andover and Greenbrier. Both are good courses, and both were "incented" to offer deals, but for me the bottom line is that I want variety and I want to be able to play with all my friends.

And being that I worked in the pro shop at Champion Trace, I know what a great course should be, and frankly there are few that would measure up in my opinion that I'd want to join. (CT is completely across town from me, or I'd be very interested in joining there).

So, I just enjoy playing all of them :icon_mrgreen:

Since I live right next to it, I belong to Russellville Country Club. Nice little course, I just wish it was 18 holes instead of 9.

That was my biggest fear too when I was considering joining, but most of my golfing buddies joined with me or soon after and that was a huge draw. Variety is important and I still spinkle in other courses throughout the year (I am playing Champions in a couple of weeks).
