To any Reds fans and/or Cincinnati residents...I have been doing some research on where the original Crosley Field was located because I want to visit it and take pictures of it while I'm in Cincinnati in a couple of weeks. I know it was demolished and some say there is a scrap yard on its place today. I have found the surrounding streets of the stadium to be Western Ave, Findlay Ave, and York St. When I looked them up, they don't come together until I-75. Has I-75 gone over the old grounds? How do you get to this place if not? Also, I see that there is a replica in Blue Ash. Is Blue Ash hard to get to? Is there anything to do there, basically can you walk into the place on an ordinary day? Thanks.

The replica in Blue Ash is simply a replica of the outfield wall and little hill leading up to it. Blue Ash is very easy to get to, it is on the north end of the 275 outerbelt. I wouldn't waste my time going up there, yes you can get there and take pictures, but it is really nothing more than the outfield wall. The fields are used for little league and the city championships.
I am too young to know exactly where Crosley was located. But if you are coming down here and walking on Findlay St. I'll give you a heads up - Keep your head on a swivel.

Below is a website that may answer your questions about Crosley. I haven't had time to look it over good but it seems comprehensive. I can remember when I was very young riding with my folks up I-75 and seeing Crosley Field as we passed by. This was after Riverfront opened and looked sad sitting there very empty. Back in the 90's the All Star Game game to Baltimore and they had a baseball fest that went along with it. They had all kinds of exhibits and things to do. One thing they had were original seats from the old ballparks. One was from Crosley and my wife took a picture of me sitting in it. Someday I will run across that picture and post it.

Do that if you get the chance, I would like to see it.
Jordan and I both looked at the site you listed a couple nights ago, also Wikipedia has a good page about the stadium. Memorabilia must be in demand because an ushers hat from Crosley sold for over $1000 a few days ago.

:cool:While in Crosley Field you could see I-75 over center field...I spent many a wonderful day and night at the old ballpark...it wasn't in the greatest of neighborhoods but I never had any trouble going to games...instead of a warning track Crosley had a terraced outfield...there was an old laundry behind left field and I remember Wally Post and Frank Robinson hitting them over the laundry...I can still smell the old place.
