Saw in the paper today where a OSU 'grad' (that is the school he is from at least) was arrested for the second time.

Johnky's Most Hated:
1. UTK
2. OSU
3. Duke

Yep, UL doesn't even make that list. I really, really, really don't like them... but my hatred doesn't even come close to that in the list. There is actually some respect for UL here. They don't cheat and lie and steal like those three.

Lie - There was a linebacker by the name of Anderson where OSU people sabotaged a class he needed for graduation because he picked UK.

Cheat - Clarrett drove what?

Steal - Surely in the rap sheet of the criminals there is a theft.

Let's put this in perspective.

Ohio State Football program lost out on a football recruit to UK and therefore changed his High School records?? You have proof of this and if that was the case don't you think Ohio State would of gone on probation for such an act?????? ERIC MANUEL IS ALL I WILL SAY

I don't seem to remember Ohio State being put on probation for Maurice Clarrett driving a vehicle. I do however remember a "player" driving a Chevy Cavalier and being ending up with quite strong circumstances because of it, HUM..

Steal - Just speculation, but isn't there a pawn shop somewhere in Kentucky that has a few chains from a former coaches son??

Look - I went to Ohio State, so I'm not blind to the fact that a program that big and successful is going to have "benefits" for players. If you don't think this is happening at UK you are kidding yourself. There is always a way to bend the rules. Now - If Ohio State football gets caught doing this fell free to spread your propoganda, but until then, I would stay ho-hum on that front. Hal Mumme wasn't there too long ago, lets not forget.

Nope, it was a class he was in at the time. Kids sign during their senior year, in the spring, in early February. They are still in class.

I agree with the rest of what you say. Anyone who doesn't think Div II schools cheat regularly has their head in the sand. At issue is how much.

You mention Hal Mumme. UK was put on probation for $1500, some windbreakers, and two poorly written papers. Fulmer told on UK and Bama to protect his own hide. That is why OSU is below UTK.

more than 3 dozen violations is a little more than $1500, some windbreakers, and 2 poorly written papers. If that was "all" they did, UK would of not been placed on 3 years probation or lost 19 scholarships. You may want to take your head out of the sand right now.

And by the way, what was this Anderson kids name and what year was this??

Chad Anderson, same class as the singing OL guy.

Throw in 'lack of insitutional control' and you get 3 year's probation. UK had gotten in trouble under Curci and the drunk guy at the other OSU in basketball.

The question should be more like in what way DON'T they cheat? In both basketball and football!

The stealing was actually armed robbery I think.

I'll say it once again. Innocent until proven guilty. What has Ohio State been proven guilty of??

I think to make it simple we should just put the whole Big Ten conference on alcatraz and be done with it!

Or in UK's case guilty andno attempt to beproven innocent.

If people only knew how bad we were hosed, the NCAA offices would still be under seige. BTW- that was 3 dozen 'allegations'. All water under the bridge now though we're stillclimbing our wayout of the self-imposed hole we dug.

Look - I wish no ill will towards UK's football program. But in their situation, the same as Ohio State's basketball program. The respective universities are going to protect their "baby" and will be willing to throw the other under the bus. Ohio State threw their basketball team under the bus 2 years ago by forfeiting the tournament in order to protect their football program. UK will do the same thing to protect their basketball program.

It IS a different situation. . . Neither of UK's current coaches have been faced with ANY sort of allegations of wrong-doing or even the appearance of it.

When I was in the Marines, one of my Gunnery Sergeants told me something that I will always remember. . . "Perception is reality." It may not be fair, but the way in which others perceive you is their truth. If OSU fans want to occupy the moral high ground (which we at UK most certainly do not, as we have had more than our share of troubles with the NCAA dating back to Rupp), then they must be willing to shine the light into the dark places and expose the problems within their major sports programs. Of course athletes get special benefits, and deservedly so, because they work harder on behalf of their universities than any other students on campus. However, there is a line where benefits cross into violations. We aren't talking about extra time to finish assignments or extensions on tests. . . Whether you like it or not, OSU has engaged in behavior that, if not extra-legal, is definitely close. When you do that, and get caught, then you must live with the perception, and thus with the reality, that you have created. . . Plain and simple.

Whether or not anything has been "proven" is not at issue.

BTW, I wonder how you feel about Barry Bonds??? I wonder if he gets the same benefit of the doubt from you and fans like you?

I have said it all along - I know there are shady things going on. I haven't denied that, my only thought is that until you get caught or punished, the point is moot.

Name me one Really Big Time College Program that has no character issues. You name an institution that is considered Big Time in College Football or Basketball and I promise I can find some sort of blemish. It happens, especially when you have 80 or so kids on your roster.

Can someone photoshop an OSU horseshoe on Alcatraz for us? Maybe have each prison building be painted in a different Big Ten school colors.
