First it was, "We are uk!!! Kids line up to play for us." Now since they can't even recruit over schools like Rutgers it's, "We aren't paying the players anymore." Here is an actual quote from an anonymous board:



Blame it on Tubby, assistant coaches, style of play, or even the starting five. It all comes down to recruiting, and the players today are for sale now more than ever. WE NO LONGER CHEAT!!! We have a head coach with integrity who refuses to break the rules and we're ready to send him packing for not making the final four? I personally support Tubby, but also miss the days of 5 star recruits who run up and down and shoot the three. We can't have both honesty and wins! The schools that are getting the recruits we used to, are getting them at a price($), trust me!If you don't think the reasons for us losing some of these kids is because of other schools cheating ..... wake up!





Folks I am truly at a loss of words, which is extremely rare for me. This is a crying fan that is BEGGING for Tubby to cheat so uk can win again. In all seriousness, you guys have one of the most interesting fanbases' in the country. SERIOUSLY, where do these people come up with this stuff?!?!? You guys are the Run DMC of "spinning". Unbelievable to say the LEAST. Here is another gem:

what can i say? some fans are idiots. i read a few posts over @ insidetheville regarding the firing of pitino when you guys were stinking up the place in conference play. so, don't just act like our fanbase is the only one with the chicken little types.

There is a huge difference between "a few idiot fans" and 80% of an entire message board. We are talking percentages here Matt. Come on man. No UofL fan in their right mind would want to get rid of Pitino. I can understand saying stuff out of frustration but later clearing your head and changing your mind. Go to our board and count how many "Fire Pitino" or disgruntled fan threads there are, then go to catspause and count them. You won't like the results, I can tell you that much.

I can't stand to read any other UK board. They kill me.

I agree that some of our fanbase is way out there. But name a school that isn't taht way.

After having been around, I can say that at least there is SOME sense of perspective here (most of the time). The problem is, our own success, and consequently our expectations keep biting us in the butt.

EXACTLY!! Expectations on your team is the wosrt thing for any team. The higher the expectations the bigger the fall when the team doesn't meet those expectations.
