Checking out the SEC schedules and see that they play at Michigan first game of the year. Poor 'Dores couldn't even beat MTSU, and that was with Cutler.

Too bad for Vandy they don't have more Earl Bennett's on the field.

OOPS! I meant to post this under the regular football forum! How do I move it? Sorry.....

I applaud them for scheduling them, you don't get better as a program by playing teams like Middle Tenn St. or UL

Even if they get blown out they are still playing on national TV in the big house.

Props to Vandy. They will get paid big, and this has to be exciting for the fan base, even if it is a fan base of 500.

I think its more just trying to get some exposure and generate some excitement for the fan base. I'm not sure the money plays some part I'm sure, but Vandy gets the SEC dollarsjust like us,so their pocketbooks aren't hurting too bad.

I doubt that the 'Dores will take home any more money than the Louisana BooBoos will for playing UK in Lexington---$550,000! Sheesh!

On top of that, look what they charge for tuition.

I love going to bowl games. I also know that any SEC team has a very tough schedule just taking on 8 of it's brethren. Still I would like to see UK take on some name teams now and then. And if we get as good as I think we'll be in 2007 and beyond, betcha Brooks will schedule some name schools if he can. Problem is that such teams mostly are booked out 10 years or so.

I'd like to see us play his old school, Oregon. At home first and then out west. It would be a great road trip if you could aford it.

I emailed Mitch Barnhardtabout two years ago suggesting this very game...UK vs Oregon or Oregon State. Considering his Pac-10 ties he should be able to pull it off. He actually wrote back saying a Pac 10 game is under consideration. I would also like to see a game against USC (So Cal). USC regularly schedules a SEC opponent (Arkansas this year). A game with USC at the Los Angeles Coliseum would do wonders for rercruiting.

You want us to play USC? Southern Cal? Did you see what they did to Arkansas last year?

It took all we had (more precisely, all Rafael had) to beat Idaho State.

Six wins, baby, six wins.

Until we beginbeating the Georgias, Floridas, and Auburns every once in a while,I don't think we have any business scheduling any big boys out of conference. . . at least not with 8 SEC games.
