Speaking of cheerleaders: Are they awarded scholorships? They do put in a lot of work to support their team and represent the university.

I think they are given partial scholarships but not full rides. I could be wrong on that, though.

Have thought from time-to-time, that given the athleticism of modern era cheerleaders, and cheerleading teams, that somewhere along the way the NCAA and member schools might have given some considerastion to lifting the "sport" to varsity-level status...with scholorships, NCAA-sanctioned year-end competitions, etc...

Suspect this would never happen, but just surprised the topic hasn't at least arisen (that I've ever heard of...)
