Boy, I am willing to bet there were some extremely bitter uk fans across the state this morning when they opened up their Lexington Herald to this:

"The Cardinals were nationally ranked in 12 sports during the 2005-06 school year. The football program played in a January bowl game for the first time since 1991. The basketball team was on national television so many times over the winter, it seemed as if coach Rick Pitino hosted his own prime-time show on ESPN.

Yet when you ask Jurich to reflect on how far the program has come in the last decade, he'd rather talk about the future."

"Though as comfortable as he is now, Jurich said he never imagined he'd stick around this long.

"I always wondered why Denny Crum stayed," Jurich said. "Now I see why. This is premier."

Were glad to have ya Tom. Enjoy your new beautiful house, and keep up the great work. Man, it's awesome being a Louisville fan!!!!

i wouldn't waste my money on the LHL. The only newpaper worth reading IMO is the USA Today and my local paper.

If the CJ ran a mitch article praising his work, it would be called "UK coverage" . The herald runs this on Jurich, and i am waiting on the fall out.

Thank God im sure the majority of people here in Lex could care less that this article ran. The day everyone in town cancels the paper because of something in the sports section, i will move to Louisville, and i dont want to live there.

Newspapers are going the way of the horse drawn carriage. I have not subscribed to the CJ for years and don't miss it a bit. I get my news from Drudge and other blogs.

Every time the CJ calls to try to get me tosubscribe I tell them that as long as their op-ed page is openly hostile to the UK and the GOP in KY then they can go pile sand.

I've done that a couple times to the poor CJ telemarketers and they seem flabbergasted. I enjoy smacking them and ask them to have someone higher up call me back to discuss things. For some reason they never do.

I can tell you why. Because with or without you, the CJ will go on. Because regardless of how highly uk fans think of themselves, the handful of them in this city cancelling their subscription won't even be noticed. I really enjoy reading the digs on uk, and even donate on the really good weeks where uk is just all together slammed. Good times.

Its worth cancelling the CJ just because of their politics. In the grand scheme of things, to the CJ,sports is just a opiate for the masses.
