My First 2006 Prediction

Is that Burton will stay healthy, Woodson will be our QB, and the two will comprise the best passing combo in the SEC. Not as wild a prediction as you might think. With time to throw, Woodson can be as good as any SEC QB. Same for Burton as a WRif he can stay on the field.

I still say Pulley gives us the best chance to win now. I don't want a QB who is scared to take a hit and fumbles a lot.

Give Woodson time with an O-Line, and he'll be fine.

I've been a little puzzled about the wringing of hands over the QB situation. Based on their performances in the spring game, coach's assessments, rumors, what? A year of experience for both Woodson and Pulley - regardless of who wins the starting job - improvement on the OL, we have to be better off at QB than last year, right?

This is what Burton had to say in an article by Mark Story in the LHL on July 2nd:

"I know Coach is gonna put the best player in the game," Burton said. "And Curtis makes plays. But Andre is a prolific passer and, when he has time, he can dissect a defense. I'll say again, I think our team will go as far as he takes us."

If Curtis Pulley "at quarterback" is our BEST chance to win it will be a very long season and there will be a new coach in the spring.
