I'm going to make a little unsolicited recommendation here. I ordered the 1967 UK-UT game. Let me say that this is without a doubt aJEWEL of aDVD.The quality is tremendous.John Wardis the announcer (who I consider in the class of Cawood and the other greats.)

If you remember Dickie Lyons, Jeff Van Note and going to games at Stoll Field DO YOUR SHELF A FAVOR AND ORDER THIS DVD! You'll absolutely love it! I guarantee.:thumbup

The 1984 game against Indiana was broadcast; I remember watching it.

I still need to check on that Missouri film for you.

Do you have a copy of 84 Indiana? Would love to have it.

Is there any film that exists of the 2002 Arkansas game? I thought that was the biggest win of the '02 season since Arkansas ended up winning the SEC West, but I've never seen it.

The AD of Arkansas would not allow the game to be on PPV. To my knowledge the only film that exsists is the Coach Nutt show which had highlights.

I don't. I just remember watching it on TV and I noticed it was not on your list. Surely someone has a tape of it. That was a good game in a good year.

That's unfortunate - that's a game a lot of us would love to see.

Why did Arkansas' AD not want it on PPV, at least outside of Arkansas?

BCHSDE54

The story I heard was the AD did it because UK did not sell all of its allotted tickets and the game was not a sell out.

Gee that's a ton of losses in that list. How can you watch 'em? Or are you into horror flicks? ;)

Even in a lost, there are memories for somebody. No, I do not watch them all. My favorite game and I have watched it maybe 10 times is the 1995 South Carolina Game. Moe Williams runs for 299 yards. What a game.

I am in awe of your incredible collection. http://www.dkamagazine.com/Forum/images/smiles/hail_01.gif

Some questions/comments about some games missing from your collection:

2005 Mississippi - was this an omission from your list?

2002 Arkansas - it's a real shame you don't have this one and it wasn't broadcast; does UK have game film they will share with you?

2001 South Carolina and Mississippi State, and 2000 Ole Miss - I'm surprised these are missing; were they not broadcast on the UK network?

1996 Cincinnati - I recall this being broadcast; someone surely has a tape.

1996 LSU - was this shown on TV? Ugly game, I know, but I hope you obtain it nonetheless.

1995 Mississippi State - I didn't get to see it; I was out of state and watched scores on CNN and followed the game that way. UK was tied in the 4th quarter and lost by 10; does anyone remember what happened in the 4th quarter, how that happened?

1995 Vanderbilt - another close UK loss that year and I didn't get to see or hear it; does anyone recall what happened?

1994: LSU andGeorgia were closegames against good programs, yet UK was just mauled badly byIndiana, Mississippi Stateand Vanderbilt and also lost toLouisiana-Monroe giving them their first D-I win. I guess you picked the right season to miss so many games, although the LSU and Georgia tapes would probably be fun to see (though heartbreaking) if you got them.

1987 Utah State - Mark Higgs was incredible; I hope you find this one as you'll enjoy it.

1987 Indiana - good, fun game; I hope you find this one too as you'll enjoy it.

1985 Bowling Green - one of the biggest letdowns in UK history, losing the opener to this team after a 9-3 season the year prior. UK won the next four games (Tulane, Cincy, Clemson and Mississippi State - all missing) but lost by a TD to Vanderbilt and by 2 points to Florida (13-15, also missing) to finish 5-6. What a sad season. The Bowling Green game would beinteresting to watch and compare tothe wins that followed to see if UK just came out flat and overconfident in their opener or was simply outplayed despite a good effort. I'd also be curious to see how that Florida game went, as I don't recall it.

1983 LSU and Vanderbilt - these wereimportant UK wins on the road to help get UK to a bowl game; did they not air? I'm sure you'd like to obtain them.

1989 Georgia, Vanderbilt; 1990 North Carolina, LSU; 1991 Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Florida; 1992 Ole Miss, LSU, Georgia, Vanderbilt, Cincinnati, Tennessee - did these air at all?

Do you know of any game film of the Great Lakes Bowl, or UK's huge upsets of Ole Miss in the 1960s?

BCHSDE54

Hey Old School, You have a great knowledge about UK Football. The games you mentioned, some I know were broadcast and I am looking for. Some, There is no known film. Here goes best to my knowledge.

2005 Mississippi Was not on UK network or Live TV. Have tried Ole Miss, but have had no success.

2002 Arkansas - It wasn't broadcast Because of the Ark. AD.

2001 South Carolina and Mississippi State. SC was a Pay per View and I am looking for that. Had A SC fan who said he had a copy, but he has never produced. No film of MS as far as I can find.

2000 Ole Miss - Wasnot broadcast on the UK network?

1996 Cincinnati - . It was on Fox Sports and this is one of the top games on my wish list. I really want it.

1996 LSU - Was not Broadcast.

1995 Vanderbilt/Mississippi State - Were not broadcast on UK network. We blewboth in the 4th qrt.

-
1994: LSU andGeorgia Ga was on the UK network and I am looking for it. LSU was not

1987 Utah State - Mark Higgs was incredible; I do have this one.

1987 Indiana - I do have this one.

1985 Bowling Green - Still looking. This one was on the UK network.

1983 LSU and Vanderbilt - I have the Vandy game , but not LSU, don't know that it was broadcast.

1989 Georgia, Vanderbilt; Looking for if they were broadcast. But don't know.

1990 North Carolina (Looking for) , LSU (I have this game);

1991 Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Florida; Looking for. I know the Ole Miss game was on the UK network.

1992 Ole Miss, LSU, Georgia, Vanderbilt, Cincinnati, Tennessee - Looking for, although the Tenn. game was not broadcast to anyone's knowledge.

Do you know of any game film of the Great Lakes Bowl (There is no know film of this game. Neither school nor the City of Cleveland have ever found a copy. It would be worth some money if there is an old copy somewhere. I have been told if I ever do locate one the schools want a copy.),

UK's huge upsets of Ole Miss in the 1960s? (UK has game film. They will not make copies)

So as you see, I am still missing some games. Thats why I keep posting hopeing some will pop up. As the years go by and VHS become older, people will throw them out and history is lost forever. I do get lucky. Just this week a former player reading my post emailed me. He has the 86 Southern Miss. game. He is sending it to me so I will shortly add that one to the collection.

People (And the University) are now becoming more aware about saving these games. Coach Curci has sent me a personal note thanking me for what I have from his era. No one thinks about saving these at the time, but years later former players, their childrenand fans start wanting them. I am just trying to be that central point for them.

I bet over 100 former players have contact me for games and I mean former players. One was the great George Blanda himself.

Folks help me out and check those old tapes. I will trade you any game I have for anything I don't have and if you have nothing to trade I will make you copies. This is a hobby, not a business.

I love UK football!!!!

Really interesting stuff there, and that's great that former players have contacted you. I'm glad you've built such a great collection.

Have you encountered many fans from other schools who have done anything like what you have done?

BCHSDE54
07-12-2006, 06:01 PM
Yes. Tenn. has two fans who have an amazing collection. In fact most of my Tenn. vs UK games from 95 on back are from them.

They have another6 UK vs Tenn. game films I don't. But, these guys will only sell you games, not trade. So until someone wants a UK vs Tenn. game film from 1938, 1939, 1940, 1956, 1965 & 1966 I am holding off buying it.

Surely there are fans out there from other schools with some good collections? Hopefully, from some schools that played UK, even if sporadically?
