When I provide a link, how can I make it say "link" instead of something longlike http://www.wildcatnation.net/forum/view_topic.php?id=20137&forum_id=15?
When I click on Links, it still prints out the entire address, instead of something short.

See below. Instead of { and } use [ and ]

{url=http://www.wildcatnation.net/forum/view_topic.php?id=20137&forum_id=15}link{\url}

Type what you want to make into the link... then select the text.... THEN click the link button above and put in the URL.

I used to do it this way. Is this feature not available with Firefox? I can do the images, but I can't seem to be able to do the links.

Ok, try this...

Click the link button http://www.wildcatnation.net/forum/images/buttons/link.gifand the put the URL in that you want to link and hit enter. That will show the entire URL like this http://www.wildcatnation.net

Then select the entire text of that link - while the entire link is selected type whatever text you want to replace it and then hit enter. It should retain the link but with the new text.

I don't guess that button is available on Firefox. I still use IE at work, and I'll check when I get there this morning, but if I recall that button is in the same group as the quotes and the 'link to image' button? If so, I'm only showing those two and one more there, one that does this...

EDIT: Yep. I'm at work now. That link button is between the 'insert image' button and the one that does code tags. (on IE)

Oh... lol... that would explain it. I thought they fixed that for Firefox in the last update we did on the board software.

You will have to do it the old fashioned way and use code...

Will show up as Sample Link (http://www.wildcatnation.net)
