View Full Version : Hearing Jeffries committed
Can't confirm yet but am hearing that OL Justin Jeffries, 6-5 290 Louisville St. X, has committed to the big blue. Hopefully confirmation will follow.

Any time we can pickup a solid recruit from Louisville I love it. Joker your doing a great job getting the UK name in all over the state.
ukbob I'm with you on the big uglies however I want d-line big uglies and about 5 or 6 of them this year. It is one of the hardest positions to recruit and we need them in the worst way. Archers D will never get any better until we can put 300lb plus boys on the line.

Thanks for bring us some good news , RV. This is what we need to build our program. Good solid lineman. Now let's get some bad ones on the defensive side of the football.

Seems our new recruiting coordinator has not lost a beat. If the services know anything, this class is shaping up to be more highly rated than the last.

I think maybe one of the three two'swas upgraded to a three-star recently. Am I correct in believing we already have more 3 star commits than we got last season?

Looks like the guy that first posted the rumor at TCPwason the money. From the CJ:
Justin Jeffries has had a big weekend. The St. Xavier High School offensive lineman committed to UK on Friday and then went out and helped his team knock off Male that night.
Jeffries, a 6-foot-5, 280-pound tackle, is the No. 14-rated prospect in the state, according to Rivals.com. He also had an offer from the University of Louisville.
"I've been thinking about it for a while, and I just decided this was the right time," he said. "It's an all-around good school, and it's where I want to be."

This is what Rob Gidel of Scout, recruiting analyst, has posted on KSR the Free recruiting board:
3-Stars Scout.com & Rivals.com
Maurice Grinter RB/LB 6'4 235 Louisville (Ky.)
Moncell Allen RB 5'9 220 New Orleans (La.)
Ashton Cobb S/CB 6'0 195 Monaca (Pa.)
Will Fidler QB 6'4 200 Henderson (Ky.)
3-Stars Scout.com
LaMarckus Boswell WR 5'11 190 Greenville (SC)
Chris Goode TE/DE 6'4 235 Dunwoody (Ga.)
J.D. Craigman DE 6'4 245 Mendocino JC
3-Stars Rivals.com
Corey Goodson RB/CB 6'1 205 Louisville (Ky.)
T.C. Drake TE/DE 6'6 225 Nelson Co. (Ky.)

I believe that is nine. There were a total of FOUR 3 star players last season that signed LOI according to Rivals.com
Getting a class of 3 star players and following that up by another and anotheris how a team like ours becomes a consistent bowl team. Once you become a consistent bowl team you have the chance to upgrade your station again and you begin getting 4's and 5's which brings you to top 25 status. Once there it's all schedule and luck to be in the running for the National Title but you don't go from nobody to Title contender bypassing those steps.

Thanks, 7lives. That's currently more than twice as many "3 star" players as the past class. Too, Micah Johnson, Corey Peters, and Josh Minton are reportedly seriously considering the Cats. Could anyone share those three players' rankings? Thanks in advance.
