Rupp- A racist, who had the first basketball team to recieve the "death penalty"

Hall- $100 hand shakes. Afraid to play UofL

Sutton- Emory

Pitino- Taught UK how to win, without cheating. (Now our coach)

Smith- Underachiever. Loses to lower seeds year after year.

Wow! What a great comeback! Calling someone retarded. How much time and effort did you put into that?

Well, your first mistake was thinking of UK basketball. Why would you think of UK basketball. We only think about Cardinal basketball one day of the year. We circle that day as just another win, play the game, kick your butt and then think of the next team on the schedule. Other than that there isn't much to think about when it comes to UL.

By the way I couldn't name your coaches and don't really care who they were or what they did. I do know UL once refused to allow blacks to play on their team. If you are black that means you would have to cross the Ohio River or go to Kentucky State.

If you are infering UK has a racist basketball past, then look in your own glass house before you throw stones.

How much time and effort did you put into typing straight out lies? Let me get this straight every UK coach was a criminal except for the one that currently coaches Louisville...Whatever!

Let me try it.

Peck Hickman was a convicted child molester!

Denny Crumm Raped Duane Mortans Mom!

Rick Pitino knocked up his nanny and gave her V.D!

All This crap is just as valid as your crap...So whats the point really.

I just love UK too much to care about Cardinal coaches, past or present. I will never understand people who thrive to put another school down.

LOL. Maybe Denny will use Scooters Dinner's Club card so all the coaches can go out to dinner at Mastersons.

It tells a lot that we've had 5 "hall-of-fame" coaches in our history for you to worry about. You've only had Denny and you tossed him out like a piece of trash so you could latch on to one of ours. Don't you think that is pretty pathetic?

I think you struck a nerve CN. Truth hurts. Sad thing is, every single thing he said is true and has been documented. Ouch. How dare you compare your corrupted, player buying, probation riddled, championship buying, point shaving school to ours.

Did you just challenge me to a violation comparison? You must be out of your freaking mind. How many death penalties do you have again?? Mountains to molehills son. It's well known that uk is all about corruption and $100 handshakes...and not just by UofL fans either. Better do your homework before you get yourself in a mess.

I wouldn't go in that direction either. Unless you want to go into beating up women, drinking and driving, exposing yourselves to children in public, carrying weapons, and rape. You have no where to turn my boy. I will bury you in any argument.

Despite these tireless accusations by UL fans, they still labor to have their programs emulate Kentucky's storied b-ball past.

So you are quoting Mark Story again. I don't know what itis with the Sports writers forthe Lexington Herald-Leader. They detest the very university that gives them something to write about. We have putup withthe Mark Storys, John Clays and Jerry Tiptons for too many years now. I wish they would move to Louisville but I know that is far too much to hope for now.

Once upon a time when I was a kid the only newspaper we received up in eastern Kentucky other than the Huntington Hearld-Dispatch was the Louisville Courier-Journal. It was far more objective about UK than these present sports writers for the LHL could ever be. Also back in those days the Lexington Hearld was the morning paper and the Lexington Leader was the evening paper and neither could hold the Courier- Journal's "jockstrap." After all of these years the LHL still isn't much better.:P

This is from like 1951. This was a different time like they said in the story it was just after the depression people tben would do anything to get money. If you lived in this time you would have done the same thing. All you guys talk about is how UK's championships are from the past we live int he past but then you bring stuff up from 1951 in the next breathe you guys are walking contradictions. But what else would I expect form UL fans.

Maybe you should read the article again. It's not about opinions, it's facts. 1951? Did you not read 1976? (Joe Hall)

Kentucky hit the daily double of cheating, going on probation in both football and men’s basketball at the same time.

Among violations the NCAA cited were cars and cash apparently offered to UK players, as well as some recruits who chose other schools.

At the time, 12 Kentucky boosters were ordered to disassociate themselves from UK athletics.

The basketball program, which was deemed to have the least serious offenses, was given two years of probation and limited to signing three new players in both 1978 and 1979.

Coach Joe B. Hall’s Wildcats were on probation when they won UK’s fifth NCAA title in 1978.

Or 1985??(Eddie Sutton)

In a Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative series, the Herald-Leader reported that 26 former UK basketball players said they accepted either cash or gifts from boosters.

Or 1988???

Some 28 days after the NCAA concluded its previous investigation, an air-freight package sent by UK to the father of a basketball recruit "popped open" in Los Angeles, revealing $1,000 in $50 bills.

In addition to that infraction, the NCAA subsequently alleged that UK player Eric Manuel cheated on his ACT to earn a score high enough to qualify for eligibility.

Read the original post. I mentioned Rupp, Hall, and Sutton as being part of a corrupt program. Pitino cleaned it up.

I never said anything about opinions I know these are facts and the things that they said happened probably did happen. But it is still the past and you UL fans have to pick your poison do you want us to talk about the past. If so then that includes 7 NCAA championships how they were obtained might be questionable but they are hanging from our rafters so they are UK's championships. And if you UL fans want to talk about recent history since the 90's we have two national championships you all have none but one final four (woo hoo).

So which is it Cardinal nation? I as a UK fan am not happy about what was done in the past but would that really have changedUK's championships? They were paying players to shave points not come to school here for the most part.

And if you thinkthis stuff doesn't go down in college athletics now then you are sadly mistaken. There are just easier ways of doing it and less conspicuous ways than sending money in a box.
