I know we are the best fansin college basketball, but in any other sport whether pro basketball or anything are there fans as "fan-atic" as us? I'll start off by saying Pittsburgh Steelers. I have some friends who look forward to football season like we do basketball. They live and die by Steelers football.
The first one I thought of were the fans of the Boston Red Sox. If anyone has ever seen "Fever Pitch," you'll see what I mean. They remind me a lot of UK fans.

My girlfriend is a Sox fan and I can't believe I didn't think of that!!!
There seem to be a ton of college football programs that have that diehard attitude that Kentucky basketball fans have: Michigan, Ohio State, and Texas are probably near the top of the list.

I just don't see it there. For example I live in Georgia and Georgia Bulldog football reigns supreme like a Texas, but they aren't fans like we are. I think you might havea point with Michigan and Notre Dame is another football program like that. At least it used to be.

Yeah thats a good one. One thing I really base it on is if we have a losing season we want the coaches head and a lot of programs they will give it time. Alabama is a great point of that.

Living in Columbus I can say that Ohio State fans are just as crazy!
My wife is from Green Bay and I'd say the Packers have an incredible following. It doesn't matter what time of the year you're there, the first story (and the talk of the town) is always on the football team.
New York Knicks fans are pretty passionate as well. Watching the NBA draft confirmed that for me. :)

I think practically every team with any tradition has them to a degree. Green Bay Packers, Chicago Bears/Cubs, certainly Cleveland Browns, UT football (my Dad graduated from UT and was just as crazy about Vols as I am about Cats)...I think they are everywhere.

Agreed. Very fanatical and very critical. The two years I lived down there, it seemed like there was a talk radio show about Alabama and Auburn football on the air every day.
One big difference I noticed, though, (and I believe I may have mentioned this before on WCN somewhere...) occurred in Fall 2003. #1 Oklahoma came to town, and those radio shows I referred to earlier were filled with callers asking what Bama could do to 'keep it close'. COME ON! You're freakin' ALABAMA! Doesn't matter who comes to T-town, you should expect to win!
I can't recall a team coming to Rupp that all we wanted to do was try and 'keep it close'. LSU in 1990 maybe? Of course, we know what happened there!

I'm gearing up for the NFL to start so these teams come to mind:
Oakland Raiders (Halloween Costumes)
Cleveland Browns (Dog Pound)
Green Bay Packers (Lambeau Mystic - Cold Weather)
Washington Redskins (men with pig faces wearing dresses)

First one that came to mind for me too. They remember Bryant like we remember Rupp.
