"As for Rondo, he plays like a veteran. He's running the Boston Celtics (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/teams/bos/)' summer team with confidence, and he's distributing the ball. Boston will like him, but the question is, will he play ahead of Sebastian Telfair (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/3830/)? The Celtics will regret for years that they didn't keep either Roy or Foye as the No. 7 pick instead of trading it for Telfair. The rumor was that Danny Ainge made the move because he thought he had a deal for Allen Iverson (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/3094/). If that trade never materializes, Ainge will have two small point guards in Telfair and Rondo, but not enough time for both of them to play. "
I tend to agree. I don't think Telfair is substancially better than Rondo so why trade a #7 pick for him and then later go after Rondo anyway? The Celts didn't really have a use for Roy or Foye since they already have West and Pierce at the 2 and 3.
It's good to see Rondo getting nice publicity. The Celtics will have issues if the Iverson trade doesn't go through, though.

I really think the Celtics are trying to put West/Telfair on the block to get Iverson, giving them a super athletic backcourt of Rondo/Iverson with Pierce at 3. That system would be tremendous for Rondo.

No kidding. I think even I could look like an adequate NBA PG (at least on the offensive end)if those guys were my wingmates.

I think it would be really good for Rajon if Telfair got shipped for Iverson.
Then, all the focus in Boston would be on Iverson/Pierce, and Rajon should be allowed to just to be himself.
If, OTOH, the Iverson trade doesn't go down, he'll be competing with Telfair for minutes, and there could be issues there.
Also, if Rondo, for some reason got traded to Philly, he'd be the guy that the 76ers received for Iverson - and that's no good either.

If Iverson becomes a Celtic then they will have two guards that can't shoot the ball.

I guess there is some talk now of Iverson ending up in Denver.
It would be a dynamic backcourt, imo.

Are you suggesting Iverson can't shoot? He did average 33 a game last year so it must not have hurt him too much.

Iverson's one of the best shooters in the league.
That gets marred by the fact that he's asked to do a lot of shooting, because his team is so awful. And that's a good thing.
If your team shoots 40%, Iverson shoots 50%, Iverson needs to be taking more shots that would lower his %--specifically, all shots greater than 40% and less than 50%.
Field goal percentage really is a weak indicator of how well someone shoots.
