"The young Celtics showed their resiliency when Rondo, who was being played for the drive and dish, hit a three pointer to give the Green an 86-85 lead with 15 seconds left."
Looking like a steal at 21. :)

They should've fouled him. ;)

Sounds like he'll put up about the same stats no matter what level he'll play at. At least until he gets that jumper down.

Say what you want about Rondo's terrible shot, he seems to knock it down in the clutch. Ask UCF and South Carolina.

He torched Tennessee. That was quite a display.

He lost many more for us though without having one.
I completely disagree. Had Rondo been a great shooter, we may have won more games, but that doesn't mean that he lost games for us.
The closest thing that I can remember where you could say that Rondo "lost" us a game was vs. Vandy. In that game, Rondo missed two crucial free throws, but only after he made a potentially game-changing steal. Sometimes you get the bad with the good, considering that all of these guys are human and flawed.
This is a team game, and although our team struggled last season, Rondo certainly contributed to what success we did have.

Ironically, when I mentioned Rondo's stats that I read here, my husband checked on Direct TV and found Rondo's game tonight in the summer league play. Not only did he really look good (scoring and dishing assists), but the announcers were really praising his play. My favorite moment was when they wondered aloud how Pitino let Kentucky take Rondo out of Louisville.
Two nights ago I had gotten to watch Chuck Hayes played. Chuck looked really good, even making a couple of impressive moves, besides playing good defense and hitting the boards.

Though there some physical problems with his shot like mechanics and hand size, most of his problems were mental, IMO. He hit a lot of clutch shots when he just grabbed it and flung it up there (So. Carolina, UCF, late in the UConn game, several times with the shot clock running out). He seemed to be at his worst when he had a lot of time to think about his shot and allow the doubt to creep in, like when was at the foul line or left wide open at the three point line.
Rajon can be anadequate NBA PG without a good jumper, but if he can get over his confidence issues and develop even a mediocre jumper, he could be a very good NBA player.

Are those announcers playing dumb? They dont know the whole Telfair, Rondo story, seeing that they are on the same team now.
