I don't understand where Brewer can use the term innovative to describe Petrino.
UL doesn't do anything new on offense....they just executevery well.
That's a tribute to good coaching but hardly innovative.
As for Petrino feeling pressure I don't see that happening.
He'll just cash those big checks until Brohm leaves and then move on to greener pastures.

BaldCat, would have to disagree with your “pressure” point. Any coach worth his salt wants to win and Petrino among other things is a fierce competitor . If in fact, Petrino wants to move on he needs to beat WVA and Miami, that I would consider pressure. Admittedly, no where near the pressure that faces coaches at Ohio State, UT etc, but pressure nonetheless.

FWIW, this column is just another example of what I consider to be fair and balanced writing from Jerry Brewer. I never feel that he has an "agenda" or that he is hurling "digs."I think he covers both positives and negatives for both local schools' athletic programs (Louisville and Kentucky).I happen to like that he seems to want both schools' programsto be successful and is quick to praise, but also willing to be fairly critical.
Once again, KUDOS to CJ columnist Jerry Brewer.Brewer is most complimentaryof Petrino as he, at the same time, expresses hisreasonable expectations.
