Graphic Cats,

Here is oursecond official graphic project. We have been called upon by the Nation once again to come up with the design fora long sleevet-shirt. But before I give you all the requirements, there are some rules we need to go over for this.

Rules:

1) Must go to the website and get familar with the graphic standards that UK has because we DO NOT want to get in trouble with UK over these t-shirts. http://www.uky.edu/Regs/Graphics/other.html Therefore, NO UK copyright material or graphics of players and etc should be in any ofthedesigns.

2) Must be imaginative and 100% your work.

3) Each of the Graphic Cats will come up with their own design. There is no limit how many you want to submit to me. When the deadline is up,the members of the Nation will vote on the design they like best that will be used on the t-shirts. DEADLINE: November 16, 2005.

Requirements:

1) Must use the name WildCat Nation and the URL should be incorporated into the basketball theme design as well. Optional use in the design that can be use is "WCN"

2) Can only use two or threecolors in the design. The color of the t-shirt is going to be royal blue. Design will beback only as we will use our logo we currently have on front of our shirts now for the front. The color of the shirt is below:

http://studenthome.nku.edu/~jacksont/uk/bluetshirt.jpg

3) The max image area on a T-Shirt is a 13" square. If you want an exact size I'll say for now go with 600x600 pixels, high resolutions and nothing less than 300 dpi. Unless I'm told other wise.

4) Design should be in vector format such as Freehand or Illustrator if you know how to use the software. But if limited to photoshop only and don't know vector format designs can be converted to vector format. Must save all files in .ai, .eps, .fh, or .psd files.

If you have any questions, please ask me them and I'll will get you the answer to you as soon as I can.

If you want feedback from members on your design, please post them in this thread. When the deadline is officially closed, you must e-mail me your design in jpg form only for now but keep them saved in the above file format. We will contact the winner for their original file format.

Edit: I changed the guidelines slightly - we would prefer only 2 colors in the design but if you need to you can use three. - Dan

One more thing - depending on how many submissions we get we will probably have the staff narrow the field down with an initial vote on the submissions. The remaining submissions will then be voted on by the entire membership of the site. Anyone who has a design in the membership vote will receive a free shirt and the winning design gets two shirts!

I want to encourage EVERYONE to submit their ideas even if you are not agraphic artist. The beauty of this forum is that we DO have so many talented graphic artists that can take an idea and make it a reality.

As an example - I would love to see someone do a design that had a "mascot like" Wildcat wearing one of our "Blueblood" shirts. I can see the design in my mind but I am not talented enough to make it a good looking reality. In my mind the Wildcat has his back to us (since we would want to show the BACK of the Blueblood shirt) but has his head turned around looking partially back over his shoulder. Since this is kind of a basketball themed shirt he could be holding a ballunder one arm. Anyway, just thought that would be a neat idea.

You guys and galsare awesome and I cannot wait to see what you all come up with!

Oh yeah, if we get more than one awesome design we would consider having more than one shirt printed!

Please note the slight change in the guidelines - we would prefer using two color designs but if you need to use three colors then that is fine.

My last design almost won so I thought I would change it up a bit and throw it back out. Notice I added some more to the cat's face. The tongue is by request from WildcatDan. :P

Anyway, I'm still not happy with it. Something is just not right. I liked kauffman's better before he took it back down. (I hate you, kauffman) LOL, just kidding, Bro.So, maybe we can make this one a community project. I feel confident the font isn't right. I kinda wanted to use the samefont that the banner has but....uh-um, I don't have that one unless the maker wants to come off of it. crazycatfan...hint, hint. What else does it need? Anybody? Trashed? Don't hold back. Jump in here and get cha' a mess of it.

I will put this back up here after some editing.

Here are the fonts you requested:

Right Click (http://www.wildcatnation.net/x/fonts.zip) and "save target as". Unzip the file and move the fonts to your system's font folder.

Thanks WD. I'm gonna go ahead and take it back down. I have a couple more ideas to add plus the new fonts. I would really like to find a silhouette clipart of a wildcat. This hand drawing ain't working too good for this one.

BK, is that the font you need. I don't get to get on here too much anymore because of school and work. Sorry I didn't catch the post earlier. Let me know if that is it.

Hey all - another idea to toy with if anyone wants to grab it....

I would love to have a "It's Gameday!" shirt to wear on, well, game days.

Could even be something like "It's game day for the Wildcat Nation"

Anyhoo - if anyone wants to use that as an idea feel free!
