I had posted on this young man in the past but wanted to post again.

As I understand it, Darius was the only player from Kentucky at the recent ADCD Camp in Indianapolis. (It may be another camp or location but the point is the same.)

His teammates were Bill Walker and O.J. Mayo so he can't be too bad. (I'm not suggesting he is that good!) He is, however, 6'6" tall and is still growing and will only be a junior this coming season.

He is also a terrific young man from an equally terrific family.

I believe he already has an offer from Xavier but, if he is the best player in Kentucky as a junior, why is UK not all over him?As far as I know, UK has shown limited interest. (Remember, we offered Williams as a junior and Porter as a junior so I'm not suggesting we offer him.0

What I am suggesting is an all-out effort to get in this kids living room and get to know him and his parents--in case he turns out to be a great player which is entirely possible. He is VERY athletic, can handle the ball, pass it, shoot it with range and jumps very, very well.

I will admit to some concern because of the Chris Lofton situation. Miller plays for Mason County--as did Lofton--and I don't want to see another great player get away--much less to a rival--and this kid could turn out to be very, very good!

For those outside of Kentucky, Mason County (Maysvillle) is only 60 miles from Lexington so there is no excuse for the UK staff not to get in this young mans living room---now and many times in the next two years.

Sounds completely reasonable to me.

Kid is a lifetime UK fan from what I've heard. I think Tubby offers him in the future. No need to rush into it though. Surely, with the close proximety, Tubby and Co have an eye on him.

Tennessee may be hard to beat out. Chris Lofton is really doing well in Knoxville and he will probably be all over Darius to start a Mason County pipeline to Big Orange Country.

I bet Coach Pearl knows how to get to Maysville and I imagine he knows a lot about this young man.

He's only just finished his sophomore year of high school, so I think it's a bit too early to be concerned. I'm sure we'll be after him in time.

Coach Pearl knows the way to Maysville--which is part of the reason for the urgency. We (UK fans in Mason County) can't take another local kid going to UT.

As far as being a sophomore, with all due respect, I don't buy that argument. The kid is potentially the best player in the state (or at least the best junior), played on an AAUteam that won the national title in his age group and is now playiing with Bill Walker and O.J. Mayo in an older age group--and I think they are in the quarter finals of the national AAU.

One more reminder--they (the UK staff) can be in this kids living room in an hour. No excuses. They dropped the ball on Lofton big time and I believe there are reasons--across the board to be concerned about how this staff recruits.
