This is a very good question. Let me think here. I think I'm going with the following:

PG -Chris Jackson(LSU)

SG - Pete Maravich (LSU)

C - David Robinson (NAVY)

PF -Pervis Ellison (UL)

SF - Len Bias (Maryland)

Several other players can get honorable mention though!

Okay, I've got to qualify my choice of Bill Bradley. Yes, I saw him play, but it was in the UKIT and not against UK, so he doesn't really qualify for my list. Bradley played in the UKIT in 1964 or 65. I was a Boy Scout at the time and ushered UK ballgames so I could get in to see the Cats. So, yeah, I guess I am that old.

Since I need to replace Bradley on my list of five, I guess I'll chose Austin Carr of Notre Dame. Back in the early '70s he threw in 50 points against that Cats in a 99-92 win against the 7th ranked Cats with Mike Casey, Larry Steele, Tom Parker, Tom Payne and Terry Mills.

Larry--who was the big 7-0 Russian center that played for the Vols in the on or around the King/Grunfeld, era..I wanted to put him on my team but could not think of this name.

Would that have been Len Kosmalski? BTW, you've got an orange thing going here with your opponent list. You must not have liked the Vols too much back then. ;)

You two just went back a little to far for me there. *lol* The furthest I can go back is probably to Charles Barkley. There was a character for Auburn. Maybe the furthest for me go remember is 82. About the year I notice UK.

Reading the recent maravich thread got me wanting to start a thread about guys that had torched us. This old dusty thread is close enough so I'll jump in here. I'm leaving out pistol since he never beat us, and basing my list on guys who had the mostuk-history-altering games against us(that I've seen, meaning 80's on)

:tonguemiles simon

:tonguedwayne wade

:tonguechristian laettner

I could not come up with a fifth, unless I considered guys who had great stats in less meaningful games. Maybe you could say that bluthenthal guy from usc.

Following Wildcat Larry's lead, I'll go with players from my span of fandom:

*Clyde Lovelette- 3 Time All-American from Kansas. Our Bill Spivey ate his lunch

*Elgin Baylor- One of the greatest who ever played the game. All American from Seattle. We beat him for the title in 1958.

*Jerry West - West Virgina sharpshooter who was also one of the best

* Pistol Pete - He has to be on EVERYBODY's all opponent team.

*Jerry Lucas (Ohio State), David Robinson (Navy) or Bob Petit (LSU) - The last one is tough. I'll pick the names out of my baseball cap. The name out of the hat is ----

Jerry Lucas, Ohio State Buckeyes

I imagine all of these are in the Hall of Fame. If they are not, they should be. It is very difficult to limit this list to 5 players. I missed a bunch of players that someone can make a good argument for.
