ok guys, this is off topicso forgive me. i just wanted to take the time and thank our regular posters here. i was reading some of the other boards earlier and it's insane. i come back "home" and it's like coming back in from a riot!!!!! don't get me wrong, missing out on vaughn sucks. but, kudos to everyone here for not going off the deep end. sure, there's the occasional negative post. which is fine as long as it doesn't cross the line or attack another poster. which i must add, hardly ever happens here. i'm not a tubby basher or a tubby supporter. honestly, the truth to that debate is somewhere in the middle.each side has it's points. but, when those kind oftopics to come to surface here. they seem to more like debates, where other boards they turn into a "who can insult another poster in the most childish way" thread. again, thanks to all you guys and gals for keeping clean and on topic as well as you do. also, this comes from matt57 the uk fan and haszero to do with my mod position.

I agree with that, this is about the only decently civilized board around, which is why it's my homepage....lol

I enjoy the variety of the different boards so I go to KSR and continue with WCF---and enjoy those along with our WCN. Each has something to offer--just some more than others.

It seems that WCN is indeed a bit more civil for the most part than some, but then we can get pretty rough here too. Isn't it fun to be fans of a program that's got enought fan interest to permit such places for us to pick up info, argue, etc? My son is a grad of Miami and as good as they are in sports, they don't have anything that competes with our boards at all. Few schools do.

The Mods set the tone, IMO.

1) Stay on Topic

2) Refrain from Personal Attacks

3) Do as much as possible to Promote dialog and action that contributes Positively to UK's programs and perception

On a certain "other" board right now, a proud father-to-be made a facetious post entitled "WE GOT OUR FIRST COMMITMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" about the birth of his child tomorrow, and how rivals and scout are going to keep updated on his stats, etc.

Funny, good natured post.

And he is getting slandered, just bludgeoned for it. It's unbelievable how low some of those people are. They make me ashamed to call myself a Kentucky fan...or even a human being in some of their cases.

There's another post about Chuck getting shocked by a poorly maintained water fountain and having to go to the hospital. And, somehow, people getting into a long, bitter debate about the technical meaning of the world "electrocute." It'd be funny if it weren't true.

This board brings me back to the good side of college basketball, fans being fans and analyzing the game and the team we love.

There's good and bad in every fan base, we just gotta stay positive and do as much as we can to promote the good and dismiss (manage?) the bad.

Keep up the good work DC!

That's a good description of this board (or site), for the most part. Again, KUDOS to the WCN moderators, particularly WCN administrator Wildcat Dan.

Also, the members who post on this site perhaps deserve some credit. A lot of folks (including moderators)came here following Mel's dream, whichbeganits fulfillmentonhis WCF site. I honestly think Mel would approve of that description of WCN, DC Wildcat.Too, I believe Mel would certainly approve of Wildcat Dan's dream for this site and how hehandles it. Just my honest opinions.
