Here is the story. I'm not sure if the words come from Nash's mouth, but they say he is still going to prep. I don't have premium so I can't read the article, anyways, here is a link.

Fine by me. He was an afterthought, but maybe he can improve to the point where he could play ball at the UK level.

After he snubbed us after Tubby went and watched him play, I was done with this kid. I know it's his future but this is our basketball team. I want someone who wants to be here and who is of our caliber.

not at all hurt or disappointed by his decision as much as I am that he, as an unproven and for the mostpart obscure player was given the chance to play at Kentucky and turned us down to hold out for a "better" offer...

That is where our program is now. We are an "elite pretender". It is obvious to those who open their eyes.

This may have been the most foolish recruiting stunt I've seen a UK coach pull in my 55 plus years of following the Cats. It was a no win situation for us. If we sign the kid, we get a prepster who nobody else recruited, he would have to perform well to erase that stigma. If he turned us down it would be an embarrasement to the program.

It shows how desperate we are. I can't imagine a Top 5 program pulling such a stunt.

Why bash the kid and UK for recruiting him. He seems like the kind of player we all like around here. Smart, hard working etc,,, i agree, if he doesn't want to be here then fine. But I think he might be really good in a few years and am kind of disappointed he didn't come here. I think UK was looking at this guy as a steal and not as a fall back guy.

I agree. Good points.

I agree as well.

I don't blame UK at all for recruiting the kid,and at the same time I don't blame Nash for not coming here. I think, in the long run, this is the best decision for all parties involved.

If he did turn out to be a good player, of course, you'd be completely wrong with this over-the-top statement. We don't think he was going to be very good, but we could all be wrong given that none of us actually saw him play.

But instead of a simple statement about Nash, you take it and expand it to redicule the entire program in a fatalist manner. I understand your frustration. I even share it to a certain degree. But it reminds me of one of my kids who when told we're eating chicken for dinner instead of something like pizza or tacos says, "I don't want to eat anything." It's an over-reaction and smells of pouting. But hey, that's what so many UK fans are becoming these days so have at it.

Actually, I don't mean that. I want all Kentucky fans to stay as positive as possible because I believe that's why will ultimately help the program the most.

Nashis going to prep.

I am fine with this. As I have said before at 17 years of age he is not done growing in more than even the physical sense. This is probably what is best for him, and it is refreshing to see that a young man can make a well thought out decision. I would like to have his help this upcoming season, but I don't think a lack of it will make or break us this year. My hope would be that he does his maturing process at this prep school for a year, improves a thousand times over and remembers UK was on him when he was not on any other top schools radar.

Thatmakes sense to me, Tre. In other words, I fail to see how the most extremely negative statements about the UK program (and its coaching staff)can in any way help that same program. Go figure.

In regard to Nash, the young man still could be a Cat someday and be a really good one. None of us know how his year will go or what decision he will ultimately make.
