Perhaps I am being very naive, but if it does in fact come down to us and Duke, I really like our chances. This is based on comments I have seen (on here, and various sources) from Mr. Patterson about liking the fact that we've been on him for a LONG time.
I'd rather go up against Duke than Florida. "That d*** Billy Donovan! He's so hot right now!"...to butcher a quote from Zoolander.

Unfortunately, I have just read (a Matt Jones column, I believe)that Duke is supposedly the current leader. I believe I read that Patterson's parents are Duke fans (and someone will hopefully correct me if I am wrong), so that might not be so good for us, even though Mrs. Patterson seems to like Tubby.

my understanding is that Mom is a big UK fan and loves Mrs. Tubby and Pop is a Duke fan so would seem to me that if he is like all other husband's then if Mom ain't happy then no one is happy

I was getting ready to make the same comment. Probably the only way Dad will get the last word in on this one is by saying: "yes, dear."

Thanks, Benj66. Yes, I thought that I had read that Mrs. Patterson really like Tubby. I believe the Matt Jones column, though, said that Patterson's PARENTS were Duke fans. I hope, instead, that Mrs. Patterson prefers UK, as that can indeed sometimes be the difference. :)

I read somewhere that the connection with the North Carolina area is because Patterson's dad is from there and still has family in NC. Thus, Wake Forest (originally in top 2 along with UK), North Carolina & Duke all have a family appeal. Still, the Patterson's very muchlike Tubby & UK, we were in before either Duke & UNC and Lexington is only a short dirve from Huntington. This one still has a long way to go, but we are in it to the end, IMO. Let's hope we win out.
