A week or so ago there was much trepidation about Aaron's academics. Is that no longer an issue? Can I sleep easy tonight?

Dunno VB, but he was running with the first team at today's scrimmage, and looked good. If he was in trouble academically, I doubt he would've participated.

You sure it was 1st team? I read elsewhere he was with 2nd team and the question was posed if that had to with the staff bracing for possibility that Miller may not have the academics in order or James Anderson, whom was on 1st team, was that much better at this stage.

Don't know what I was thinking. Aaron was matched with Jamil most of the day, so it was the second team. Sorry.

I think that's actuallyJames Alexander, not Anderson.
I saw another post earlier where the poster has spoken with Aaron Miller, and he stated he got his grades and everything was OK, although there may have been some anxious moments last week.
I wonder if Brooks is playing it close to the vest, just in case we had some visitors in the stands today from the west, just down I-64 :lol:I wouldn't put it past those *ss*oles to send "spies" to our fan day. You knowBrooks' doesn't want to show too much this close to what could be the biggest game in his UK tenure.
Actually he waswith the 3rd and 4th teams todaybut who's counting.

Well, he started out with Fidler the first possession, which would be third team, but I think they mixed the squads a bit. I am pretty sure Aaron was with the second team later in the scrimmage. I do know he was matched against Jamil Paris late in the scrimmage. Wasn't Jamil second team? I've been wrong before.

According to my son and his buddies (who are juniors at UK? seniors? maybe seniors? who knows?) there is question about the number of hours Miller has. If he doesn't have enough he may be declared academically ineligible. :thumbdown

I actually think this is a good rule. You have to show progress towards graduation and that means just taking any classes especially during the summer doesn't cut it if doesn't show progress towards a college degree. But if Aaron had good grades and knew what courses he needed to take to stay on track for graduation, then he should be fine.

Paris was 3rd team with Lewis and Oninku in front of him and I didn't see Miller with the second team but it wouldcertainly be easy to miss some things. :)As for the mixing and matching it did occur but most of it was not until very late in the scrimmage, like the last two series. Before that though it was very structured, 1's vs 1's - 2's vs 2's and so on. I have the complete depth chart in my pornographic memory. :P:thumbup

FWIW, Aaron Miller was, surprisingly, on the third team every time I, too, checked. Like others, I wondered if it was possibly related to academics.
PLEASE be eligible, Aaron. I have my fingers crossed.

He & UK's academics folks can't count the hours? If he hasn't enrolled in enough classes this past Spring & Summer to have enough for this season, he shouldn't be allowed on the field as he's never going to make it no matter what his grades are. This would be gross stupidity.
It's one thing if he doesn't pass the necessary classes, but GMAB on not taking enough classes to begin with.
