Per Scout:

How many of his official visits did he make?

Even at 6'9" he's more of a 5 than 4, so shouldn't really affect our other primary targets. He did drop in the rankings though, Scout to #74, Rivals out of the Top 100. As his stockdrops, it makes sense to commit earlierrather than later. My big question would be his work ethic. Does hestrive to get better?

I read that he wants to play the 4 and UK sees him at the 5. Not sure how this will weigh on his decision. BC and UT are supposedly the other contenders.

Rumors on other boards have him signing with BC-- he has a relative on the BC staff and they have guaranteed him a spot playing the 4. Have to admit that I'm both disappointed and surprised; I thought he was a sure thing for UK. Of course, I thought Vaughn would be in UK blue too. When, oh when, will we sign a big man?!?

He has made unoffical visits to KY but nothing official, he looks BC bound to me.

He definately looks BC bound. We're scheduled for a visit sometime in September, I think, and he has no plans to visit Tenn. He's taken an unofficial to BC; I'm not sure if he's taken an official there.

It looks like second place again, but I'll keep my hopes up.

New conference is tomorrow (supposedly). Any new rumors? Is Southern still projected to announce to Boston College?

Yes, nothing has changed. He made his decision 2 weeks ago. He has just been waiting to announce.

A report on Rivals says that Southern made his college decision while attending John Lucas' Big Man's Camp. Supposedly, Jai frequently attends his father's camps so he probably has talked to Southern. Who knows, maybe Jai convinced him to sign with UK to play with him and Patterson. Wouldn't that be great!

I think that would be a long shot. Possible, had Lucas, himself, committed. I think Southern is bound for another school.

I always read rivals but dont post there. I have read that thread and it is laughable because I read the article and it says nothing about Jai or about him calling FROM the camp. Southern called his coach before he even left for the camp and said he made his decision. The article simply stated that he couldnt be reached this week because he was at that camp. Somehow, the TCP fellas turned that into he called FROM the camp and was probably working with Jai. Anything but BC here would be a huge surprise.

Oh pooh! I knew I shouldn't have gotten my hopes up. Guess he is BC bound as everyone is anticipating. :X

Seems that way. Dont mean to be the spoiler but I couldnt believe how imaginative that article got over 5-6 posts.

According to all the Internet postings I've seen (which are a lot, but not necessarily very valuable) the consensus is that it's BC and UK is a long-shot.

So, I guess if we lose Southern we'll go after Coker?

I believe Coker may have already been given a conditional offer. It should no longer be conditional after this.
