Jerome Bettis talked about his assumption that Cower might not resign with the Steelers a few weeks past on the Will Woodford show.

This seems to confirm the possibility:

Could Cower be lured to the college ranks by some team?

No way. He is a pros pro. It would take some college college assistants to go with him. Head coaches are one thing, staffs are another.

Well, to answer the question you used a the title of the thread, by all means, he certainly COULD coach college football. He would probably be a hot commodity if he ever became available. I agree, however, with johnkyblue. If and when he ever leaves the Steelers, he won't be on the market long. He's an NFL man and he won't be leaving the league any time soon.

I believe that Bettis suggested during the interview that the college ranks were not out of the question.
