Harrison Beck one of the most highly recruited QB's in the country transferred from Nebraska to NC State Thursday.

Iwouldn't think Justin Burke (Lexington Catholic) is to thrilled about this development. Possibly, Burke should have stayed "In State".

Not good for Burke. I see a tranfer(s) happening at the end of their season or spring practice.

Burke is incredibly talented QB that I would have traded Fidler and Hartline for.

Besides being a great HS QB he was another coach on the field in the Peyton Manning mode, he was a straight A student and class valedictorian.

Burke drawing comparisons to Rivers

RALEIGH - As a student, N.C. State freshman Justin Burke is on the fast track, having already earned 30 hours of college credits going into the fall semester.

As a student of football, the heady, highly recruited quarterback is learning a sophisticated offense at a pretty good clip as well.
"I'm getting there," Burke said, noting that the "biggest challenge is the verbal part, the vernacular," which can sometimes tongue-tie the most eloquent of players.
But Burke's job is to rattle off the plays and make the plays. He did that big-time in high school, throwing a Kentucky state record of 62 touchdowns with only six interceptions last fall.
He's currently working on the third team at State and is depicted as a quarterback of the future, one who has been hyped as another cerebral, Philip Rivers type. Ideally, coach Chuck Amato would like to redshirt him, but said, "I'm not going to hold him back" if the Pack needs help this season.
"He's got a lot of poise, is very smart and has a quick release," added Amato, who saw Burke complete 13 of 18 passes in Saturday's scrimmage against the No. 3 defense........

There isn't going to be any transfer.Justin Burke is a competitor and understands that every program signs multiple QB's and that there is always going to be competition.By the way, Greco transferred from NC State following last season after Justin signed.Check out the comments from the Nebraska faithful and you may learn a little bit aboutthe transfer. "He has never backed up his OWN talk". Finally, Justin is a student athlete in every sense of the word and chose NC State for the academics first and the football program second.

I don't know if you mean Justin isn't transferring or if no one will. I don't mean Justin will transfer. Someone will, IMO. Happens all the time and this recent transfer from Nebraska may push someone else out the door if not himself.

Yes, the fans did not appreciate the way he went out but I have seen similar remarks on innumerable boards once a kid jumps ship. It's the nature of fans to be very critical after a kid bolts. Harrison has some baggage no doubt, specifically his mother who sounds more like a coach than a mom. Harrison's step father and mother pretty much "shopped" the kid around in high school as well, thanks mom/dad. Lastly, as I understand, Harrison flopped as a leader on the field and off, alienating many team mates in the process.

That being said, even the NU folks did not deny his talent-skill and potential to become a very good QB.

In closing the NCSU QB coach is Marc Trestman who coached for 3-4 seasons under Howard at UL. Trestman at one time was the youngest NFL offensive coordinator. Marc isa sharp guy and willdo the right thing for the WolfPack.

Burke is a top notch QB and student and won't be afraid of any competition. He will be the starter NEXT year. The kid has poise, smarts, and mad skills.

Coldstream,

Sorry, I did interpret your message incorrectly. I thought you were referring to Justin possibly transferring. I wanted to reinforce that he won't. Simply not his makeup. However, you're right, one of the others could at some point or be moved to another position.
