One thing I noticed during fan day was the increased size of our football team. Even from last year our team looks much, much larger. Now whether this translates into wins or not who knows, but we now look like an SEC team. In years past I noticed how much bigger Georgia, Auburn, etc.,was compared to us. But not any more. We not have size on the offensive line, but also at defensive line, linebacker, and heck, just about everywhere! This is the first time I can remember looking at our team and thinking Dang, look at the size of those guys. Gave me a good feeling inside.

Some other notes from fan day:

-Got to talk with several coaches (Brown, Archer, Smith, Phillips) and everyone seems to be excited about having depth now. Coach Archer commented that some of the players didn't believe they had to defend their spot in the lineup and that many players have changed positions on the depth charts because of it. Archer commented how great it was to have depth. He mentioned Paul Warford specifically moving up the charts.

-Curtis Pulley will be starting this year at some point. He's improved his passing dramatically from last year and has an extra gear when he's running. Also really like Fidler at QB. Whenever he gets his passing accuracy down he will be pushing the starter. I see him vying for it next year.

-Woodson looked about the same to me. Can't say I saw much different although the coaches said they liked his effort in the scrimage. He did have one good drive.

-SOme freshmen will play, like Maxwell and Paris. Paris is a force as a pass rusher. We couldn't keep him out of the backfield during a pass. Cobb had two beautiful picks in the game.

-the defense looks much more cable of stopping the run with their size. Between the defensive line and linebackers it was hard running up the middle. There were a lot of big hits inside.

-The whole team looks to have added a lot of muscle. It's really noticible on the running backs and defensive backs.

-The players and coaches were once again great. They are so nice to everyone it's amazing. They pose for pictures and are willing to talk and laugh. It's a fun experience if you've never been to one.

-Sorry I didn't get to meet any Nation members but I hope to this year.

Thanks for the update! That's good news about the increased size and depth. We especially need that on the O-Line.

Did Micah hurt anyone?

You are in the minority then. Most other posters on two other sites were impressed with Woodson and said he improved from the Spring Game.

Well, I was predicting throughout spring-summer that Curtis was the guy due to his multiple threat ability. However, recently Brook's and Staff have made it pretty clear that Andre's thier Top Gun. I was (am)very surprised.

Practices are naturally closed, so few folks really know, but going on what Brooks has said, Woodson is must likely getting the vast majority of snaps in practice.

I don't think your statement, that Pulley will be starting at some point this year, (although I am in agreement) bodes well for UK early in the season.

If I have read the tea leaves correctly Woodson is thier guy and Brooks is going to give him a shot. The question then becomes if he falters early how soon will Brooks wait to hook him in favor of Pulley. Perhaps, Brooks even if Woodson faulters early sticks with him to establish continuity at the position with the belief it will pay benefits later in the season? Take some lumps early with dividends later as Andre improves his game.

The "Wild Card" in this scenario is that Brooks and UK need every game in the "W" column they can get to become bowl eligible and most folks think Brooks needs at least 6 wins to come back. It will be interesting to watch how this unfolds.

R&B you are assuming Woodson will struggle. He may not. I hope he is the guy and can build on last year. You hate to see a guy who took most of the snaps not get the job because it is experience wasted and you have to go through the learning curve all over again. Sometimes it is worth it, but often it is not.

Yea, RCS, Got a bit ahead of myself with allthat speculation. But, hey it's football talk so it can't be to bad. Your point about Andre is well taken he may-could light it up this year. Personally, I am hoping for a slow start.
