Every year I pick a senior on the team to root for just a little harder than the others. Last year was Tommy Cook(would have been Dustin Williams) this year will be a guy who I have meet a few times, and is a gamer, Durrel White.
Though underappreciated - Durrell turned in a solid season in his first year at DE.With thatexperience now and gaining size, I expect him to build on that and really be one we can count on this year.

For me, it's both Durrell White and Lamar Mills, both of whom I met at Fan Day Saturday. I so want those two seniors (along with all of the others, of course) to get their bowl game wish fulfilledthis season. Both have certainly faced more than their share of adversity, making me pull even harder for them.

Three cheers for Durrell White. And let's not forget he's on a Robinson? Scholarship.

Mills or White? That is one tough choice.

For me it would be Rocco Maragas. He will probably not see the field this year but he has stayed here and put in his work.

A vote for Trai Williams. Trai started school at UK as a walk-on and now has elevated to a full time scholly who started all 11 games last year. Along with his football talent, Trai has also graduated and is attending graduate school so he can finish out his athletic career as UK. THis post may be a little bias since Trai is Lisa and my cousin. I wish him a great and injury free year. And wouldnt it be nice to say hey, we are the ones that got us to a bowl game in 2006. Hopefully a NEW tradition starts in 2006!!

You know, even though I named Durrell White and Lamar Mills, both of whom I have met and who have certainly faced adversity, I read here about Matt McCutchan and Trai Wiliams, who started out their college careers as walk-ons and are now starters on the offensive line, and I so pull for these two young men, too. Also, I have been really impressed with what I have read about Michael Aitcheson as a young man. Then there's Fatu Turituri, who went down with the knee injury last season, who makes me pull extra hard for him. I remember being impressed with Karl Booker at a Blue-White game a couple of years ago and may now see him as a starter. I almost forgot Hayden Lane, whohas impressed me with his really high level of intelligence. Terrell Bankhead has been impressing at fullback last spring and in the preseason, and Jason Dickerson is surely counted on for holding and snapping the ball for kicks. Naturally, I also pull for Timothy Hargett and Travis Slaydon, who backs up Matt McCutchan at the important center position.
So I think I'm just going to pull extra hard for ALL these seniors to stay healthy this season and get us to a bowl game in 2006,as it is their last chance to get to a bowl. Second-thought, although I'm admittedly straying from the topic, I'm going to pull hard for ALL of the UK players to stay healthy and get that bowl appearance they so desire. Pulling forevery single player EXTRA HARD is surely a good thing! :)GO CATS!

lets hope that perhaps against a texas state the Cats can have a big cushion and Brooks will let Rocco take a few snaps.

I have gone back and edited my original post on this thread, adding ALL the seniors to my post. I just don't like leaving anyone out, and all of those guys are honestly guys I am pulling for extra hard. :)I am so hoping their dream finally comes true this season!

I gotta agree with my hubby and throw in a vote for Trai here. I may be relatively new as family goes to this young man but he really impressed me not only as a player but as a person as well. In a time when many young people have very little respect for other people, I found him to be very respectful and genuine and as Brad pointed out he is no stranger to work...coming in as a walk on and working to earn his spot as a starter all while excelling academically. Like PooDoo I will support the entire team, including it's seniors but I consider myself very proud to have even just an in-law association with such an outstanding young man. Go CATS and Go Trai!

It's so great to see ALL THE SENIORS go bowling. Bless their hearts. How they deserve it! :)
It did break my heart to see Joe Schuler out there with those seniors, though, trying to deal with his emotions as "My OldKentucky Home" was played. How he would love to be out on the field competing with his teammates at the bowl game! I know he's glad that he will at least be there, though, cheering and encouraging his teammates from the sidelines.
Joe is going out a WINNER, though, as are all the seniors! The guaranteed winning record was established Saturday, although it has not been mentioned much. GO CATS!

The most important item in regards to seniors, is that there are very few of them, we have alot coming back next year !!

Durrell and Rocco were two of the last guys to walk off the court at halftime today, after the team was honored for the bowl win. One last memory. Thanks guys.

I hope that the game and the salute to the football players impressed the recruits.
