This was very surprising but let us not forget that is was a exhibtion game and not season and they played without Juan or Scott Padgett. But I hav eto agree exhibtion or not only beating bellermine by 7 is a horrible showing. I talked to my friend as he was leaving the game and he said that Bellermine shot a good percentage from the floor and that the team just looked back except for Dean. He said no body except Dean showed him anything. He said that Brian Johnson came out of the gate with a good showing but leveled off and didnt play so great after the beginning.

Actually I think it was 70-63. Louisville TRAILED with ten minutes left in the game.

What I find unbelievable, especially considering the smack run about our rebounding, is that the Cards got outrebounded. By Bellarmine. Wow.

I was there and trust me the best part of that game was the fact that they put in a new coors lite boothclose to my seats andthe lady birds in the blue jean skit.."hey now"The game was ugly and we are not even a top 50 team right now.

The comparison to Team Nike and Bellarmine is ridiculous. Team Nike was a team comprised of at least one former NBA player and a handful of college all-conference performers, including one of the leading scorers in the history of Marquette basketball and a kid who was first team Conference USA the year before.

I think the injuries played a part in it. But as Rick says, face it: you all suck right now. The new guys didn't live up to any kind of hype at all; in fact, if you hear Pitino tell it, they were scary bad.

I also think that UL will be better than they showed but don't act like if the tables were turned and UK had only beaten bellarmine by seven you wouldn't have been the first Card fan on here running smack about it.

I'm not worried about this team, they only beat Bellarmineby7....so what? We have very little experience and they had more. I'm sure by mid season Pitino will have this team whipped into shape. Meanwhile, your twin towers (both jrs.) combined for 4 points, 4 rebounds and one block shot. I'm telling you guys, they are going to cost you some games. When a true freshman outplays both of your junior centers...well they suck.

You forgot about the third tower who posted better numbers than either of the other two 7 footers. So I think I will take poor production out of two of our three seven footers and a 30 pt win any night. I would say another final four is defiantly not in UL's future this year.

I'm not sure it's such a great idea to smack our big men when you guys got outrebounded by Bellarmine University. Just saying.

I think being without Padget and Palacios may have had something to do with that. The rest of the big men were freshmen. Your's are juniors and aren't playing any better than our freshmen. Brian Johnson had 7 points and four rebounds in 11 minutes, more than your two big men had combined and in half the minutes played.

Bellarmine is in the Great Lakes Valley Conference Division 2. I watched them play the University of Southern Indiana for many of years and they didn't even come close to beating that teaml. In fact Bellarmine is always at the bottom of that conference behind KWC, USI, N.KY, and Lewis....How funny is it that UL couldn't beat a Div 2 cellar team. I could only imagine what the score would have been if UL would have played KWC again. HAHA.

You guys of all people should know that Pitino teams ALWAYS start out slow. I realize this is the smack board and uk fans these days have to scrape for ANY type of smack they can possibly find, but you were saying the exact same thing about last years team that almost lost to BYU. Yes I realize they are division I, but it's still BYU. Padgett and Palacios will be back and then all we will hear are crickets once again. Last I checked, the tournament is about 5 months away.

But hey, guess what...it's still football season for us. I will talk basketball in a couple month's after our season finally ends.
