Actually the person or place where the document was altered is unknown.

I have not kept abreast on this but I'm confused. Why is Walker ineligible and Mayo isn't? Mayo played H.S. Varsity as an 8th grader too. Why is one ruled out and not both?
I'm off to read your link now...

"The issue was whether or not he was registered in ninth grade at Rose Hill Academy," Katz said. "There was no record anywhere that Bill Walker completed eighth grade."
Okay, now I get it... talk about stupid! Why would the school--Rose Hill--bump him to Freshman when he had not completed 8th grade? If he tested out of the 8th grade I'd understand, but dang. They screwed this kid. Surely he could take an 8th grade test to pass it or something.

I hate to say it, but high school and college basketball is becoming such a soap opera that my fear is someday we'll no longer even care about it.
I know it's sure happened with me with baseball and the NBA.
I realize that, when we're young, we live in the euphoria of "win one for the Gipper" and all that - but darn - I do know there was a time when loyalty to team and playing for tradition and all that mattered. Now, it's just a meat market.
I don't know if Walker's getting cheated or not. I just know I'm getting sick and tired of the whole circus surrounding "amateur" sports.
Gee...I must be getting old.

I believe you can blame the AAU coaches for a LOT of it.
