Kentucky's Rich Brooks' seat is hotter than any other coach in the SEC and he knows it.
After three pitiful seasons with a combined 9-25 record, the Wildcats likely have to show marked improvement this year for him to remain in Lexington. The good news for Brooks is the team is on more solid footing now than in any time he's been at Kentucky.
"We have to win more games obviously," he said. "But the good news is we're in better position than at any time since I've been there to do that. We have about 82 to 83 scholarship players. I started with 68 my first year. We've been building it up ever since."
The team is still young, but returns 16 starters from last year's injury-prone roster, including nine on offense. That unit has the chance to improve on last year's 21.7 points per game thanks to an upgraded offensive line and the running of multitalented Rafael Little.
