THe Anderson kid has some issues given his comment " I love WVA and thats where I am going to play but I am keeping my options so I am open". The kid from what I have gathered, loves the chase and thrives on the attention. As, I posted last week or so, word has it that both UL and UK are tired of his act. UL is really going after the Beaumont kid hard and I suspect UK as well.
A UL fan on one of the UL boards posted a comment suggesting that UL fans pitch in and buy Anderson a fire proof couch and move on to bigger fish.
If I had to pick one kid out of that list that IMO would be an impact player at the next level, it would be Chase Minnifield. He's got all the tools plus he's a very bright down to earth kid an intangible that we so often forget.

I figure that Beaumont will sign with UL, Coach Redmon is a big UL guy andhelps directhis players that way. For example, his son - Chris Redmon, Michael Bush, Montrell Jones, Rashad Holman, Ibn Green, Garry Ahrens, Stephen Garr, and Todd Flannary to name a few. That's a nice little feeder system for UL.
We need to sign 4 or 5 'safety type' players. Guys that are in the 6-0 to 6-3 and 195 to 215 range. We are dangerously thin at the Will LB and safety spots. Drayton re-committing certainly helps but more are needed.
It goes without saying we need4 or 5 O-linemen as well.

Actually, TownCat Chris initially inked Illinous, however, Chris Landry thier QB coach got whacked, permitting Chris to petition the NC2A to void his letter of intent. Chris then looked at a couple of other schools (including UK) and later signed with UL.
Coach Redman was never comfortable with the choice specifically since at the time the UL Coach was Ron Cooper. Cooper was an utter disaster, in addition to being a very bad football coach, he was simply not a good person. UL settled 3 pending sexual harassment cases to the tune of over $350.000.00, as part of his termination package. UK Bob has described Cooper as a "social miscreant" and I think he was being overlykind.
Redman's relationship with UL was very strained during and after Chris left. It took years for UL (Smith and later Petrino) to rebuild that relationship. Some of the players you mentioned were actually walkon's that were not recruited by anyone else, but turned into pretty good ball players.
Your comments were factual and correct but I just wanted to clarify the situation with his son, Chris.

Many "experts" claim that in the collegiate as well as pro ranks, the strong safety position, requires more pure "athleticism" than any other position, hands down.

R&B, I am not at all disputing what you say here, as theyoung man's wordsseem to support what you are saying. Interestingly, though, the CJ article last Sunday included the comment that Anderson was "shy." Go figure.
In regard to Beaumont, I fear that U of L has the upper hand there, based on his comments in the same article. Beaumont said he had always pulled for Louisville in "everything." :(
Too, I'm curious. Did anyone else read that same article? The photographer did a great job in combining the two Mr. Football candidates into one picture on the front page of the sports section, splitting them down the middle with each wearing his team's helmet. Anyway, it was so weird how much Anderson and Beaumont looked alike with their helmets on. Specifically, the eyes (one of each player, obviously) looked absolutely identical (oh, I happen to love eyes and notice them first when Imeet anyone). It was just so neat! Even in their pictures inside the sports section, without their helmets, they still resembled each other enough to be brothers with only the shape of their head being distinctly differently. Again, I just thought the picturewith the resemblance between the two candidates was so neat! :)

Poo, a lot of UL folk believe the same thing regarding Beaumont but I don't get excited until they (recruits) get on campus. Honestly, with some of these guys you have to worry after they get on campus as well but thats another thread.
Don't know where the CJ came up with "shy" reference young Mr. Anderson, everything I have come across tends to suggest otherwise. Please, do not misunderstand what I am saying, the kid is probably a great kid, but I just do not believe it is right to string along programs/coaches etc.

Wasn't Montrell Jones UK bound until Bassett/Mumme got caught (no telling what Jones was offered and/or recieved for his commit), then went to UT instead?

I know that in our world today perception often becomes reality but I'm going to re-state that we never bought any players when they were here.

Then I'm confused. I guess Bassett's money order was just an oversight and al that probation stuff was a huge misunderstanding:shrug:Of course, I guess it depends on what you mean by "buy" a player.
