I usually don't post a "rumor" but agood buddy of mine just said he heard on WAVE (I believe) that Victor Anderson has verballed to UK.... That he liked what he heard from the UK staff...

Anyone else hear that???

www.catspause.com is hinting that Anderson is considering UK now also.

I heard some about this tonight on the news. They said he eliminated Louisville because of a bad experience of some sort.

Yep, that is what my friend said....

Isn't this the guy that is commited to virgina or west virgina but also says he wants to be open to other options... sounds like he is committed but he isnt

EDIT: I just realized that it sounds like I'm knocking him or something which I'm not. I was just looking to clerify the name. Hope no one misunderstands my apparent inablity to communicate that correctly... He sounds like he was be a very. very impressive land from what limited knowledge I have of him. I would love nothing better than to see him on campus next year in a Wildcat uniform.

Here's hoping Mr. Anderson, who just may win theMr. Football award this year, does indeed commit to Kentucky. It would be huge for the program, in my opinion.

By the way, I read that he has been very honest with the West Virginia coaches, letting them know that he is still open to deciding on another school. Let's keep our fingers crossed! :)

No inside info or nothing but I believe he may want to see some improvment from this team beforehe commits, which I can't blame him for that. Buthe will see improvment starting on Sunday the 3rd. And you know he will be watching......

Not much to add to the posts already made except that Cutler spoke about this on his show last night. He said that, in fact, Anderson is still considering UK seriously but wants to wait and see how UK does this season. He mentioned that Anderson said he had an unpleasant experience (with some of the UL players, I believe) during one of his unofficial visits to UL and has definitely eliminated UL from consideration.

The UL fans on other sites have been brutally bashing this kid, everything from his asthma to his character. Its been ugly. Not sure if the kid reads such sites, but the administrators on some have had to ask people not to post about Anderson to curb the attacks.

I don't know if any of this is true but if Anderson eliminated UL it was a mutual agreement. THe UL staff, as I hadposted previously, started looking elsewhere after the kidverballed to WVA.

The ULfans, with few exceptions, have not been to kind to Anderson on the boards as CaveMan said. Most, if not all of that has to do with kid verballing to WVA, end of story. If the kid had verballed to UL he would have been the best thingsince sliced bread. That's just the nature of many if not most fans everywhere.

Anyway, the kid has a world of talent and could be a very dangerous player in the Spread option coach Rod runs down at WVA or at UK for that matter. I just wouldn't count on anything until he shows up on campus, I am not "knocking" the kid, just saying you could be in for a crazy ride.

Victor Anderson rushed 15 times for 61 yards with a 1-yard TDrun. Anderson cramped up shortly after halftime and was unable to playmost of the second half ofthe game.(X won 15-7).

This is what Anderson told Rivals Com earlier in the week:

"I really like Auburn, Michigan, Michigan State, Kentucky, right now" Anderson said. "I was interested in Louisville, but I've dropped them now. I had a bad experience with some of the guys over there (during an unofficial visit), so I don't have any interest in playing there."

When asked about WVA (not listed in his statement)Anderson responded, "Yes, I am definitely playing there".

That' why I said, enjoy the ride.

I think I'll go get a hot dog or some cotton candy and wait until the ride is over. Those kind of spinning rides tend to make me a little nauseous. ;)Thanks for the heads up!

good player but not a must get..players his size and abiltiy are a dime a dozen...we need o-linemen this year more than we need another running back..i trust the staff's judgment on this one..

This kid is enjoying the attention he's getting in the recruiting process. We'll take him if he wants to come, but it's a long shot. I think he will honor the commitment to WVa when all is said and done.

Anderson had a nice game last night - 200 yards and 4 Tds against Lexington Catholic.

Caveman Catfan

He had 305 all purpose yards. Seems like a solid recruit to me.

Derek went to Ohio State after feeling snubbed by Denny and the Cards, only to end up playing for Rick and the Cats.

It may be that Victor commits to WVU, feels snubbed by the Cards, and ends up with the Cats.

I could definitely live with that!

The mercy clock rule was in effect for the last 22 minutes of that game. I think Anderson got his final TD on the first drive of the second half. He probably could have had a much bigger night, had it been necessary.

And in the "For What it is Worth Category", I may be able to shed a little light on the incident Anderson is referring to.

Per Scout-Rivals posters, Anderson while visiting UL stated to a few UL players words to the effect that he couldn't wait to get to WVA to "run all over you guys like Slayton did". Coaches had to restrain the players from hurting Anderson. After Anderson's comments he was told to leave.

The posters that related this for the most part are folks that do not post a lot if any trash, and seem to have a pretty good sense of what is going on with the UL football program. Here is one post:

"I am very good friends with St.X's radio guy here in Louisville. He is very tight with the team as well as coach Glaser. He talked to Vic and it is true that Vic was giving it to th UL players in the locker room.He literally had to be removed because he was about to take a beat down.As for our chances with Vic he told me he would be shocked if he didn't go to WVU but that has always been a UK fan after UNC.He has never liked Louisville and the staff apparently figured out he was just messing with them so he was asked to leave. He did have concern over Vic's ability to play in college due to his severe asthma that limits him at St.X right now. Also said the kid is full of hisself but what 17 year old isn't and that basically he is a good kid.And while the radio guy as well as coach Glaser are huge UK fans he told me that Coach would NEVER steer a kid from UL as has been reported if he thought that was the best place for him.And that outside of marginal recruits that Glaser makes contacts with schools for that he isn't very involved in a players recruiting.I would love to have Vic because I have seen him at practice and games and came away impressed. But we apparently have a big hill to climb. He also told me that Vic told the UL players he can't wait to run all over them with WVU just like Slaton did.Just what I was told.I know I don't post here much but so believe what you want but this was from a guy VERY close to St.X."

The incident as described above is very similar to what other posters have related. Why Anderson would make comments like that in UL's locker room during an unofficial visit, who knows....Kids say the darnedest things. The WVA lossis no joking matter to the UL players, they had those guys on the ropes and didn't finish the job. I certainly wouldnevercondone anyone be subject to a "beat down" but without a doubt Anderson had to know he was ruffling some feathers, IF in fact he actually made those remarks.
With all due respect to the above poster, the more I read about Anderson, I would NOT be shocked if he inked with you guys.

I am having a rough time believing that Anderson said that on a visit to UL. I think that is probably an internet rumor that should be sent to Snopes.com for review.

This is just like the McKinney recruiting. It was not the fault of anyone but the recruit. :?

That is okay. If he comes to UK, it will be another kid from Louisville who felt like UL did not treat him right that ended up in Lexington.

I would certainly concur, however, no one that witnessed the incident Anderson refers to is talking, other than Anderson. There is alwaystwo sides of the story and somewhere in the middle you will find the truth. . The one thing that is certain, from Anderson's comments, he was admittedly involved in an incident with some UL players during his unofficial visit.

In the McKinney case a number of folks including coaches and recruits came forward and went on the record stating why McKinney got tossed during his visit. In all fairness to McKinney he did deny those reports.

My experience is that most times the truth does fall somewhere in between the two stories, but sometimes it is firmly rooted on one side.

Either way, many posting UL fans are being jerks about this thing. From a biased perspective, I hope local recruits take notice.

As CC said, this sounds to me like bunk. Pretty fantastical stuff. I don't believe a word of it.

Anderson averaged over 10 yards per carry and had 3 TDs last night. I think this kid is one that UK should want. Not sure if they can actually wrestle him away from WVU, but he is worth the pursuit. It would be another big catch from Louisville. I don't think UK will get Beaumont, as I think he is a UL lean (or may be courted by a big time traditional power), but if UK got Anderson AND Beaumont, it would be devastating for UL, IMO.

I never thought UK could get either. One of two would also be great news!

My question is, If Victor has never been a ul fan, why did he go there in the first place? I keep myself and my children as far away from that landfill dump as possible.:thumbup

Victor was at the game Sunday with a bunch of kids UL is recruiting. Do you really think the UL staff would allow him to mingle with other potential recruits if any of the above statement were correct?

This young man enjoys the recruiting process. More power to him. Let him get everybody's hopes up. Just don't count on him being on your team until he shows up for the first day of class.

Saw him play on TV Saturday. Certainly has the speed. Didn't seem very big - more thin than no height. Assume he'll fill out. May be a WR vs. a RB though.
