D.J. Stafford from LaGrange, GA has put KY on his short list of campuses he make an official visit to. Good news considering he is a 4-star prospect that would be a huge get again for KY and maybe bigger than Micah Johnson since he is not a KY boy.

The coaching staff has done one hell of a job in establishing a recruiting base out of LaGrange, even if we missed out on Trey Blackmon, who I think is in trouble at Auburn anyway?
I know it goes back a few years, but wasn't Q. McCord a LaGrange product?

He sounds like he would be a huge land for the program. He would definately help to build a sustainable program.
It's good that UK has had success in recruiting some Georgia boys as they have a great talent pool down there.

Thanks for the link, Coldstream. Stafford's coming to UK would indeed be great for the program. I LOVE that LaGrange connection! :)

Former Kentucky signee D.J. Stafford (right) of LaGrange (Ga.) is playing this season at Harmony Prep School in Cincinnati. Stafford didn't qualify to play for the Wildcats but told CatsPause.com earlier this week that "One day I'll be there," referring to UK. The 6-foot-4, 265-pound Stafford was the highest-rated recruit in UK's class that was signed last February.

I was high on this kid last year and was pumped when he committed and wasn't overly joyed to hear the bad news of him not qualifying. Hopefully, all that gets worked out and he is a cat next season! Thanks for the update. I was wondering about him.

LaGrange has a great junior class with several we could use. They are currently No. 1 in Class AAA in the State. Were any of the others from his old high school?

^^^ I read elsewhere that the coaching staff asked him to bring some of his new teammates on his visit. But who knows :shrug1: maybe some of the Lagrange boys were in attendance.
