....had Barbaro not been injured. The Bernadini-Barbaro rivalry could have been one of the greatest, like Affirmed and Alydar. We'll never know which one would have been the best, but it's hard to believe that Barbaro could be any better than the incredible Bernadini.
I just watched Bernadini toy with a very good Bluegrass Cat and now believe that this horse can win by as much as he pleases. His jock was patting him on the neck and congratulating him as he pulled a way, before the race was over.

he is a good one, the son of AP Indy who was a great horse, but like his father thanks to neil coventional drysdale, he was lightly raced.. same with fucahi peagus who drysdale trained... this horse was lightly raced... he is a good one.. it sucks that most of the goldphin/mokutoums stable horses are so lightly raced.. not saying run them into the ground like wayne luckas, but they should race more.. of course it is standard for the long lay off from the triple crown races to the august race travers, haskell etc. iam a huge throughbred horse racing fan.. my mother has friends in the business. they had a nice retrospective on keenland the other day on PBS as part of their fund raising, it showed the 10.2 million dollar horse that shiek mohuhumd bought back in the early 80s.. ironically the guy that bred that horse, also owned a coal mines that my father worked for at the time.
