Well, my girlfriend talked me into buying tickets and going to this concert tonight. We bought the tickets a while back for $27 a pop and got really good seats in the 4th row. This was at the Stephen Foster Ampitheatre in Bardstown. I figured that it would be cool being that close because I've never been that close at any of the concerts I've been so I agreed to it.

Jessi Kimpflein opened. To be honest, I had never heard of her but actually knew her music somehow. She did very well and was apparently a local musician that plays in many area bars...I plan to check out on that at some point in time and catch her again at a bar or something.

Billy Currington was up next. This is when I realized that I had completely blown my money. For starters, about 200 or more people decided that it would be appropriate to stand in front of the stage thus effectively blocking my view of the entire concert after about halfway through the opening act. 4th row seats were utterly useless and I was very...disappointed that the security/ampitheatre personnel didn't make them go sit back at their seats. On top of that, there was only 1 song that he signs that I really like, another song or two that I had heard and said that was ok. The one song I liked he didn't even play. He was stating how proud he was of having 2 or so cds out and decided that since his music must suck to play other people's hits. At this point he began playing some Hank WIlliams, Jr, Barry White and AC/DC songs and butchering every single one of them. It was very easy to realize a few things after tonight: I will never attend another concert that has Billy Currington in it as I am a huge country music fan but didn't appreciate how he acted on stage as far as making some various remarks during his songs or the fact that he doesnt even play his music and butchers songs I KNOW I like and didn't play his 1 song I was there to hear. I also will not attend another event at the ampitheatre as they don't seem to care about the several hundred people bitching about the people standing in front of the poeple with good seats. I do plan to look up the opening act and try and go and see her/them at a bar or something in the area. Apparently at 22 I have lost all temperment for people that disregard other people and only care about themselves. I don't know how this happened to me but apparently it has as I was just thinking to myself that I would never do such a thing to other poeple...

Bottom line, if you are thinking about attending a Billy Currington concert, I would advise very much against it, but it's your money. I wish I had just said no and found something better to do with my money. Hindsight is 20/20 though I guess.
