Bengals 21 Ravens 9
Bengals 7-2 heading into the bye. Gotta take that. I know the whole no win over a team with a winning record thing, but you play who is on the schedule the league gives you. Big games remain against the Colts, Steelers, and chiefs. Hoping for 12-4. Go Bengals.

I'll give you the "play what the schedule says you play" thing, but basically, they haven't beaten a good team this year.
I'm sorry. That's a fact.
Cincinnati is in a unique position. They're pretty much guaranteed a playoff spot based on their schedule, and luck in certain points (Culpepper, anyone?)
I know I say this a lot: but that being said.....
We'll see what happens when they play a team with a winning record, or a team that has some sort of offense.
Don't misunderstand me. I don't root for the Bengals one way or another. (Well, unless they wear those terrible uniforms again........I'm sorry, I'm not a big fashion guy.......anyone who knows me knows that...but Holy Crap, those uni's last week were the worst thing I've ever seen.......worse than the World League.....seriously.......I know "Halloween" is "orange and black" time, but really......UGH!)
Anywho........
I firmly believe the Bengals will end up in the Playoffs.......but depending on who they play, they'll either win one, or get crushed.
They're still two years away, IMO.

I fully agree with the 2 years away thing. I have been preaching that to my friends, but this year is this year, so I will deal with it, and I want the best for the Bengals.

With getting the Bengals into the playoff will be a big benefit for this team in the upcoming years. Playoff experience is a very major key. That is what this team will be getting now is playoff experience if they make it to the playoff. Coming in two or three years, when they are battling in the playoffs, that experience will pay off. Even though I'm a Cowboys fan, I'm happy to see the Bengals doing good.

i believe in 2 years the team will be broken up. look at past bengals teams, everytime we get people to play for us, they leave. dillion, spikes, others i cant think of right now.... IMO i dont think that we can keep this team together for too long...if chad johnson gets too many more td's than his mouth can only get bigger!? i see the whole "who can guard chad" thing will lead to something bad. what we got now is a great team, just way too many flags, and stupid mistakes.

Speaking of this whole "who can guard chad" thing, he really isn't being objective about it. He has a checkmark saying that nobody has stopped him yet. I thought Jacksonville did a great job stopping him. But yet, in his eyes, they didn't.

I thought that Chad was unhappy w/ his play in the Jacksonville game and didn't put a check, but I'm probably mistaken

Nope, they showed a shot of his locker and on the sheet it was all marked down one column only as "No".

The Bengals have the talent to contend for the Superbowl. In my view, it's not about talent, it's about improving their execution on offense. The defense is good enough to hold teams and they get plenty of turn overs. The problem is in the mental mistakes that result in bad penalties and inefficiency inside the red zone.
That is the difference between the Bengals and team like Indy or Pitt. Those teams don't make a lot of mistakes and they make you pay when you turnover the ball.
Does Cincy have the players to compete with Indy and Pitt for the AFC title? Yes. But they have to come out of the bye week showing improvement in these two areas. Certainly, their schedulecould make their record deceiving, but you still have to win games in the NFL.

I'm still not convinced.
Colts by 14. (At least.)

Actually I'm thinking more than 14. I'm saying like 28 to 35 points. But that's why they play them on Sundays on the field.

There's being a fan, and then there's the real life. Like TRex said, "that's why they play the games", but right now, there's no one in the Colts league.
I don't see the Colts going undefeated. Too hard now.
I do see them losing to someone you don't think they should.
That being said....with all the hype on this game, I see the Colts coming out and making a statement, which is why I said what I said.
BTW, I'm not a Colts fan, and I detest Manning, but I just don't think the Bengals are there yet. I think this will be a "reality check" game for the stripes.

Anybody heard about the locker room fight this week that a few Bengals got into? I think some distractions is going to hurt the Bengals. This isn't the same Colts team from past that just had a high power offense. They have a defense to go with this offense as well. I think it was on here somewhere that somebody mention that both teams have similar offenses. I don't think so. Indy's offense is still a few years up on the Bengals. I look for Indy to run away with this game. Just like they did against New England.

There is a good chance that half the teams in the NFL had a fight this week.

Fisticuffs are common on sports teams. It's also very common on college and high school teams. They are usually spontanious, with nobody holding a grudge, not the "I'll meet you somewhere and each of them brings a gun or a ball bat" type of altercation.

Yeah, I agree that fights are common but you usually don't hear about it. This was reported on the NEWS. My thinking is when it makes news it's a big deal. That's all I'm saying. But you all are right.

Good job by the Bengals. I thought they did well, and better than I thought they would.
I agree withSimms (), that I would've jumped out and kicked the FG earlier, instead of calling the TO, but this has to be a confidence-builder for them.
At this point, it looks like they're going to be in the Playoffs, and depending on what Pittsburgh does, they could be interesting......still think they're in the place a lot of teams have been, where they need to get there (the Playoffs) first, then get thumped, but will come back the following year, but stranger things have happened.
Also, as has been mentioned several times in this thread: "That's why they play the games."
We'll see.
Congrats, Bengal fans.
