I don't know that I'd do this, but (and looking at the other rumors I doubt it would happen) it's intriguing.

I doubt Dallas gives up 2 #1 picks, but getting rid of T.O. at this point would be a HUGE story, and the next question becomes: Who goes after him?

On top of that, it WOULD make D. Branch a #1 receiver (and local ties notwithstanding) he's been really good for a couple of years, and he's still fairly young (27), so he's got several years left, barring some catastrophic injury.

So I guess the question is, what would you do?

Would you dump T.O.,save thesalary, and pay the draft picks/trade that it would cost to get Deion Branch?

It's hard to say how bad TO's nagging hamstring is. One thing's for sure, a receiver with a bad wheel is useless. Any one of the 2nd string guys would be as good or better than TO at this point.
Dallas takes a real gamble holding onto him with hopes they can get 8 or more games out of him - by then it could be too late.

As a 30+ year Dallas fan, I detested that we got Owens, but I was resigned to rooting for him and prepared to do so. But I'd like to see Dallas go after Branch if TO's not physically capable of contributing.

As a Cowboy fan since 1978, I was against the TO signing. But, again, I root for the team, not the individual players so I accepted it. However, I wish they'd cut TO's sorry butt and trade for either Branch or Jerry Porter. This is a Super Bowl caliber team & I'd hate to see it torn apart by some self-obsessed jerk.

Count me in as a Cowboy fan that didnt want TO, but I doubt this will go down that way.

Two 1st round picks for Branch is quite steep. I wouldnt do it.

I'm a Dallas fan too and I wish they would cut him. Signing him was one of the most, if not the most, stupid thing Jerry Jones has done with this team. Couldn't he see what Owens did to the Eagles? He destroyed a very good team all by himself and Andy Reid was very patient with him too. Parcells isn't a patient man. Unless Owens does a complete turnaround in the next couple of days( I don't see that happening)this is going to get extremely ugly. It will probably cost the Cowboys a good season if something isn't done this week. I don't think I would sign Branch. Too steep a price but I would cut Owens and just go with what you got. Even it means signing somebody off the beer truck to play WR.
