No Kentucky @ Auburn Officials Report.

Sorry everyone, I took my wife to a play last night and missed the game. I set the DVR, but because of an OT, the UK game didn't pick up until late in 1st half. I recognised Antinio Petty, but not the other two officials, and I don't like to do a report on a short game. I will pick up with the game on Tuesday.

If anyone has any play situations they want me to look at, please post it and give approx time left.

Dang......now I don't have anything to argue about. Actually I thought the officiating was just fine in this one (the officiating in 22 point wins always look just fine to me).

Those games are where I find a lot of things to mention when I do an evaluation. Officials tend to get lazy and allow things to happen that shouldn't. We'll catch up afte the Alabama game.

  6. I was actually worried about the officiating in the first half. Seems they were calling it inconsistently. Touch fouls were called then hard contact not called. Not saying it favored anyone but I have always hated inconsistent calling. Either call it close or let them play but not both. Seemed to smooth out later on.
I could care less about any other basketball program.

I kind of thought that myself, but I really didn't see much that was considerably bad or overlooked. There were a couple of times the players were mouthing at each other, and I think from that point forward was when they decided to call touch fouls. There was that flagrant when Harrow was elbowed for example.

  8. As Lighthouse says...."preventative officiating"

  9. I didn't think the officiating was too bad in this game myself!
But with all the missed wide open shots in the first half, I did
have my eyes covered quite a bit!
I DESERVE, my own opinion, and I OWE, an explanation to no one!!!

Ok, I've got one for you.

Which is the correct interpretation for the lob to the basket?
    1) It should be considered to be a shot, the auburn player was blocking out, and Noel was over the back.
    2) It should be considered to be a pass, the auburn player was committed a blocking foul.

About where was this in the game? I want to see the entire play and in full screen, position of the officials, what they called, etc.

First thought, it looks like the contact was before he gained control of the ball, so my first opinion, it's a pass and a block. But I reserve final judgement until I see the film.

  13. My interpretation was, IT was SPECTACULAR and the Auburn player got T-BAGGED!!
There was no call on the play! I thought Noel got undercut!

OK, that is an interesting play situation. First, I have to say I agree with the no-call. However, I would have also agreed if they had called an undercut on the UA player, or an on-the-back call on Noel. A lot of possibilities, but the official who had primary, was in position and decided no advantage happened either way and ignored everything else, and as I said, I agree with that.
